It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Six Pack

So glad this arrived before Christmas, thank you, its all we have been watching over the festive period. This programme is the best ever, I absolutely love it, and certain episodes I can relate too, although is that good or bad??? :) Highly recommended

Amazing, I don't know why this isn't on in the uk. It is 1 of the funniest shows I have ever seen. The price and shipping costs were very reasonable also. Would recommend to anyone

Although I don't think it's a truly great show, Kaitlin Olson is what keeps me watching. I think she is a very talented actress. I've now finished seasons 1-9, it's hit and miss with the occasional brilliant episode.

Superb bargain and excellent extras

Unless you spend a lot of time watching semi-obscure cable channels or take an active interest in US comedy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia could easily have passed you by. If, however, you're a fan of the similarly neglected likes of Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Eastbound and Down and Curb Your Enthusiasm, Always Sunny could well be your new favourite show. It follows the misadventures of group of amoral, directionless bar owning friends in blue collar Philly; three dudes: Dennis, Mac and Charlie, (former semi-struggling actors Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, who also write the show) and their female compatriot `Sweet' Dee, (Kaitlin Olson, who played Cheryl's sister Becky in Curb). From season two they are joined by Dennis and Dee's estranged father Frank, played with gusto by the magnificent Danny Devito. Episodes traditionally focus on a pop culture or political phenomenon - from abortion to wrestling, Extreme Home Makeover to the global financial crisis; and the gang's attempts to exploit said phenomenon for their own personal gain. The format is well illustrated by the Season Four episode `The Nightman Cometh' , where Charlie announces he has written a musical. Charlie: I wrote a musical. It's pretty damn good, OK? I wanna put it on. Mac: Right, what's your angle? Charlie: I don't have one. Dee: Yeah, whose--whose face are we shoving this musical in? Charlie: You don't shove a musical in someone's face. What are you talking about? Mac: Right, but who versus? Who are we doing it versus? Other reviews of the show on Amazon make it sound pretty stupid and offensive. I would agree that the show is not for the easily offended, and when it is stupid it is gleefully, unashamedly stupid. However, I can't think of many other sitcoms that would base an entire episode on a critique of the Israel-Palestine situation, or the welfare system, or North Korean nuclear disarmament. The skill of the show is can make these subjects as outrageously funny as it's rampant arguing and violence. It's this combination of pop culture trashing, violence, satire and controversy that makes Always Sunny the closest thing to a `punk' sitcom since The Young Ones. I would also argue that there's a fairly strong liberal morality underscoring the writing; most of the issues are sensitively presented, it's the gang's selfishness and solipsism that is being ridiculed.

Eine meine Lieblingsserien... Schwarzer Humor gepaart mit klischeehafter amerikanischer Arroganz und Patriotismus. Die Serie ist tatsächlich nur auf englisch zu genießen, da bei der Übersetzung zu viel des Wortwitzes verloren geht. Unvergleichlich, lustig, dämlich, abgedreht und schräg...

This is probably the best deal you'll get for this show, at it current price, you are getting 5 seasons, plus the christmas special episode, compared to buying all separately. The box art is great, it's a six pack of beer, on the top, you can see the beer spouts and some lipstick marks, very cool indeed. If you like dry, twisted humor and are not easily offended, then this is the show for you. What I like about this show is how they have what some would call "stupid" situations, but in a way, they seem very real, and thanks to the cast doing an outstanding job at portraying life as a twisted chain of events. They never win and always come short, but in each episode, they manage to simply continue with their lives as if nothing happened. I really suck at reviewing TV show, movies, etc, so I'll stop here and just say this is a very unique show with utterly F*&$ up humor that anybody with an open mind will enjoy.

Me llego antes de lo esperado, muy bien envalado. Esta seríe es mortal la veía hace años en via digital y desde entonces la buscaba pero es imposible verla online o descargarla así que me animé a comprarla y estamos muy contentos. Muy humor loco y desenfrenado, CHarlie es TOP TOP.

This Always Sunny set is an awesome deal - not all the dvds are widescreen and might not be in HD... but are you really watching Always Sunny to see quality filming? Probably not - it's more for the entertainment. Price: I think this would be a great gift idea - it's a steal at the $55.49 price... TONS of episodes for this price, it will give most people hours and hours of laughs. Type of show: -For those not familiar with the series this is not something you'd want to purchase for anyone who can't handle foul language and crude jokes. -Great kind of show to just have on in the background while friends are over - it's not something you have to pay attention to from beginning of an episode to end to understand - there is constant entertainment; also, while there are story lines for the show and even throughout the series, you don't have to have seen the first 2 seasons for example to understand or enjoy later episodes in series. Packaging: Each DVD is in an individual plastic case as if you purchased them separately
