can't go wrong with this!
bought this to replace my nitro pad which broke TWICE and this is the best for under 100. Pad feels great and the knob at the back to raise or lower the volume is a nice touch. Note there are two out so if u have a yamaha kit you can plug a second pad to so us the side that says output. Great tower. highly recommended!

Good luck trying to catch Yamaha slipping
WHOA! Yamaha NEver lets me down. There is no stopping the power of Yamaha, there should be an ad in the alesis intro kits for this bass pad. Strong, sturdy, responsive and just such a great and needed product for any e drummers. About the whole " you have to hit it to hard" argument....there isn't one... you are drumming even if on an electric kick so stomp like the whole band has to follow you... oh wait they do. DRUM on and thanks sooo much yamaha ( I also have a rgx a2 electric made by them and its incredible and under 6 pounds!)

Works well with Roland E-Kit...
So far, this purchase has been great. The kick tower plugged right in to my standard Roland controller and no changes were necessary. Four stars? The playing surface has a "rebound control" and just does not feel as natural as a drum head. However, it is very difficult to recreate that feel, so it is hard to take off more than one star. The overall usage, build, and simplicity makes it a great bargain though. I would recommend this!

Works great with my Iron Cobra double pedal
I bought this to I could practice on my electric kit in my garage without having to travel all the way to the studio. I use with my Iron Cobra (old style) double bass pedal (I also use the Trick Drums Dominator double pedal, but it does not fit well on the base of the KP65 - this is a design flaw of the pedal though and not the KP65). While it does indeed work, I do have to watch it since it moves around a good bit and my pedal can actually move away from where it's clamped down. I probably have to recenter it once every other week or so. Nevertheless, that's the pedal's fault and not the kick tower. I like the separate volume control on the back of this unit. ***Update 8/23/2016 - Unfortunately the KP65 that I had purchased began to crap out on me. It seemed like it was just hit or miss whether or not the trigger transmitted when it was hit...no matter what I tried. I contacted Yamaha customer service and spoke to someone (an American in California) who created a ticket with my info and told me someone would contact me for further instructions. Later I did receive a call but I was not able to take the call and a voice mail was left requesting a call back. I was not able to return the call until the next day. I called them back and they ran through the troubleshooting steps with me, which I had done everything except one thing already. They said to try that one thing (put the kick pad on a separate input to rule the inputs out on the brain) and then give them a call back/or email and they'd process a replacement right away. Unfortunately the tests showed that my unit was bad, but Yamaha shipped me one out and it arrived in perfect condition and is working flawlessly at this time. Yamaha's excellent customer service and warranty policy (1 year) has allowed me to retain this 5 star review in tact. Great job Yamaha! Other manufacturers should take note of your warranty policy and follow it as an example.

Perfect addition to my Yamaha DD5c and Alesis.
If you are looking for a bass drum tower, this maybe for you. I have been using the Yamaha DD55c table top drum set for a while. It's a nice addition to my acoustic set but sometimes I would use it as a stand alone kit. It came with foot switches that didn't quite cut it for the flow of a lot songs. I would have miss hits,no hits and double hits out of nowhere. I did some research on Amazon and other drum sites and read reviews of the KP65. I must say I found them mixed. I'm glad I dug deeper beyond just a few. The set up process can be very tricky.E Drums and triggers ,and how they work with different brands and modules,WOW!!! I choose the KP65 because of the overall quality of the Yamaha brand. Mixing Yamaha with Yamaha was probably a good idea but it works with my Alesis as well. Make sure you have good pedal with the hard end hitting the pad. I have not used it with a double pedal but did watch a youtuder using it that way. I was very happy with the price compared to others. It with the cable ready to go. If you have issues, Google Alexa were big helpers for me.

Works with older alesis electric drum sets!
I bought my son an Alesis electric drum set years ago, his kick pad on his set stopped working. Alesis wanted $200 for one! Thanks to someone's review (where they said it fit their older Alesis) I tried this one. Works great at a more reasonable price!
