Hand Tools 33-312 3/4" X 12' PowerLock Professional Tape Measure (2 Pack)

This 33-312 Stanley tape measure is very accurate. I measured it against a Starrett 24" rigid steel ruler, both inside and outside, and it was at least within 1/128" of the Starrett ruler. When I say "inside measurement," I mean holding the end of the tape against a flat surface. That test measures the accuracy of the sliding hook on the end. I did not measure a true inside measurement, which involves adding the width of the tape measure to the indicated measurement, because that is always, with any tape measure, an approximation. I often build cabinets and need an accurate tape measure because errors become additive; a 1/32" error, when multiplied over several pieces of wood, becomes unacceptable. This tape measure fits easily in my shop apron.

NOT a metal casing, 1/2 the weight of a real "professional" measuring tape. Would not buy again.

Stanley tape measures are usually pretty good quality. Most of the time I am not measuring more than 12' so this is about half the weight/bulk that I carry around in my pocket working in the shop on small projects.

There are a thousand measuring tapes for sale. The Stanley 12' is perfect for professional and around the house use. It is all metal and the retract spring has the right amount of tension. The belt clip isn't really necessary but here is the best part. The case is exactly 2" long making measuring into a blind corner easy and accurate. Push the tape into the corner, read the tape and add 2"..Done.

12 ft. do not need bigger than that for woodworking
