On the OctoPrint app (Octopi for 3D printer), the startup file needs to be modified to get the full 1080P output. I used the suggested text string "-d /dev/video0 -r 1920x1080 -f 10 -q 50" in the Pi startup file. The lens is set to infinity and is solidly glued in place (broke one trying) thus maybe not the best for closeup 3D print monitoring. I did fix the broken camera. I had a spare 3.6 mm lens and lens housing, but needed to modify the housing so it would fit over the little ribbon cable. The housing wouldn't exactly match up with the holes on the board. Instead, attached with hot melt glue (don't use cyanoacrylate glue, that creates fumes that will cloud the sensor). Also found that the 800 x 600 image setting gives far better results than 1920 x 1080, use "-r 800x600 -f 30" in setup. The focus now works great at 6" to 14", perfect for 3D print monitoring.

These cameras worked perfectly with my Raspberry Pi with virtually no additional setup. The picture quality is decent and it can reliably record at 1080p30 without any issues. Keep in mind there are some components pretty close to the mounting holes, so be sure to check that your screws don't interfere with them. They should accept M2 screws just fine. There's also an adhesive pad on the back of the camera sensor which you'll have to peel and stick yourself so the lens/sensor assmebly doesn't just hang on the ribbon cable. Overall a fine pair of cameras for a great price.

Doesn't work with latest Raspberry pi OS. Be warned. You'll have to download a legacy version to do anything with it.

Bought 2 to plug into my raspberry pi 2 and 3 series and use with octoprint for my 3D printers. Both cameras came with a maybe 6” cable that plugs into the pi and worked right away. The camera has a peel and stick backing if you want it to be more permanent attached to its circuit board. The camera has protective plastic on the lens you need to remove. Fixed focus but it may be adjustable? I also bought longer connect flat cables from amazon so the camera could be mounted farther away from the raspberry pi. The camera is 5 megapixels and for the price, is just what I wanted. I can’t recommend how long it will last but I can recommend it works now and I’m pleased.

bought these two cameras to use with Octopi to monitor my 3D printers. One of them just stopped streaming for no reason within a month. The other one is still working.

Camera works great out of the box. The ribbon cable is shorter than I'd prefer (~150mm) and must be inserted very carefully or it is prone to not working. Thought the first one was broken until I realized it was inserted slightly askew.

Works great for my raspberry pie 2. Get a decent picture for my needs. Do NOT get 4K images or videos but do not expect it from an economic camera. Works great as intended.

For the price, you can't beat these. Way cheaper than the official cams, but do the trick Have them set up monitoring 2 3D printers running octoprint

No he encontrado ninguna otra que por menos dinero dé lo mismo.

Telecamera per raspberry pi di qualità veramente scadente. Le foto sono pixelate e i video hanno pochissimi frames per secondo. Inoltre 5 volte su 10 le ho dovute collegare varie volte al raspberry pi prima che fossero riconoscute.
