If you're reading this review what you honestly want to know is should I buy this light bulb, right? The short answer is, it depends, and here's why.In a world of complicated tech this light bulb is kind of refreshing. It's like the Showtime grill of smart bulbs, you simply, "set it and forget it". No apps to worry about, no networks none of that. If you only have one, just screw it in and you're done. If you have 2, make sure the channels (letters on the front) are on the same on both, screw them in and walk away, you're done. Sounds like a no brainer to get these right? Well hold on a second because these bulbs do have one "intentional" quirk, that I, for one, just can't understand and it was the main reason for me not to use them. The quirk is that once it detects motion, it never turn back off completely. It just dims to about 25% and stays on. Now at first I thought I just had a defective bulb until I went out and bought 2 more. Nope, they all do the exact same thing. They real kicker is that they also stay that way until you reset them. Just to clarify, if it detects motion again, it does turn all the way on, the problem is that it never turns all the way off. I'm not sure who in engineering thought that this was a good idea, but it kind of defeats the purpose, at least for me, which is really disappointing because the concept is great, just not the execution. Now for some people this won't be a big deal, but for me, it was really super annoying.Bottom line, it's simple. Light bulbs are supposed to be able to do 3 things. Turn on, illuminate something and then turn off. Unfortunately, this lightbulb only does 2 out of the 3. Do these bulbs work as advertised? Yeah, for the most part they do. They detect motion, are pretty bright, link together easily, don't need a network or an app and are safe for outdoor use. They just don't turn off. Granted they are LED's so electricity won't be an issue, but again, for me having everything still lit up was.Do I recommend this? As others have stated, this product is a great idea, but poor execution. The "low" setting is hard to distinguish from the "high" setting. Per the statement on the box, the maximum brightness is 1200 lumens, and the "dim" mode is 50% brightness (600 lumens). The bulbs I purchased had a near imperceptible difference between the "high" and "low" setting. Thus, instead of having an "off" and "on" scenario, the lights started as "bright", then increased to "slightly brighter" when they detected motion. Certainly not worth the high price.

No wiring required. Just screw in a bulb. Great!Dawn to Dusk standard, so you don't waste burning a light bulb during the day. Great!Bulbs are linked in a private network, so if one bulb turns on due to motion being detected, all bulbs in the same network turn on. Great!Motion detector built right in to turn the bulb on when motion is detected and stays on for 5 minutes. Great!BUT. . . The motion detector doesn't turn the bulb OFF when motion is no longer detected. It only dims the bulb by 50% and stays on. That just doesn't make any sense. If you want a Dawn-to-Dusk bulb, there are 100 choices that don't cost near as much. The whole purpose of a motion detector is to turn the light ON when motion is detected, and turn the light OFF when motion is no longer detected. That's the deal breaker for me. Otherwise, I would have purchased more of these.

The bulbs do not fully turn off in the evening. Additionally, they didn't appear to become brighter when people walked by. Why would anyone want to leave the outdoor lights on all night and just have them get a little brighter when motion is detected. This is a weird and useless product. Returning all 8 that I purchased.

The dim setting is way to bright. Very little difference in high and low brightness. Doesnt work for my application. I wanted a light on the porch that was subtle when no motion and would brighten up enough so that I could tell if someone was there. I can barely tell the difference when it brightens up

So this floodlight does work together for the motion - but the 1/2 brightness it states it has really is not much different from the bright setting when in standby mode. I should have read more of the other reviews as this is stated several times. Works ok and was easy to install.

It works well but the instructions on the box or in the box didn't me that the light would be on from night till dawn. I was looking for a motion sensor light that would go on only when it sees motion, This light is on from night till dawn at low power and only goes to bright when it sees motion. Nothing in the literature covered this operation or how this device worked.
