Great at this price point!
After years of using Shimano 600LCs, I figured I would try out something a little more affordable. I use these reels for trolling on Henry's Lake in Idaho, catching different types of trout. I bought one of these and the Okuma 303D. Heres what I foundPros- Great price! Half the price of the Okuma 303D and a quarter of the price of a Shimano 600LC.- Great drag! As sensitive as a Shimano and easier to use than the temperamental drag that the Okuma 303D had.Cons:- Temperamental line counter. The line counter would get slightly off on the number alignment in the viewing window. It would eventually right itself every time or would right itself when the reset was pressed, but I'm worried about the long term durability.- plastic parts. The Shimano and Okuma 303D are all stainless steel parts. This reel has a lot of plastic parts. That said, the plastic feels solid. The drag wheel would probably be my main concern, but only time will tell how it holds up.Caught many fish over the fourth of July week with this and it performed on par with my Shimano and Okuma 303D. I've had the counters go out on my Shimanos and they have broken down over the years. At this price point, I could buy 4 of these for the same price and probably get more years out of them, but only time will tell. Nevertheless, I was impressed at the performance at this price. The Okuma 303D and Shimano look nicer with the stainless steel, but come at a premium price. If money were no object, I would probably stick with the Shimano due to similar performance, stainless steel parts and proven track record. If I find this holds up well over the next few years, I will likely purchase these in the future instead.

Great stuff!
I've used the Pro 20 for years for a trolling rod and got this 15 series as no one in our town carries the smaller one.Perfect mid size trolling reel, OKuma has improved these with anew feature that auto flips the spool latch rather than having to manually engage it.Nice job. I dont think there is a better value than theseWell done Okuma!

Good Reel
I don't find anything wrong with this reel. I put some 12 pound test line on it and have used it for trolling, drifting, and bottom fishing. The line counter works well and seems to be accurate. It is nice to know how much line you have out when you are trolling or bottom fishing. I've had no problems with the reel and it seem very well made. It is not for casting though and I knew that up front. I have an inexpensive Zebco 404 I use for casting. I suppose you could cast with it if you really knew what you were doing, but I don't. When I tried I got some serious back lashes.

Best bang for the $$$
Have these mounted on all my trolling rods and couldn't be happier with them. Have used them quite a bit on the Great Lakes (Ontario & Erie), and have tackled everything from walleye to salmon and multiple species of trout with them. I'm not a charter capt, just a weekend warrior, so I'm not depending on these to earn a living (although I wouldn't be worried about using these even if I was). Overall these are great performing reels that have everything you need and nothing you don't. Could the line counter be better? Yes. But they still do the job. The drags work well and overall the reels seem durable and smooth performing. I see no need for a recreational fisher to shell out more money for higher priced reels.

Satisfied, but a couple of issues
You really need to watch the line counter. Sometimes the reset button seems to stick and then it doesn't work. I just need to push it again to "unstick" it and it works fine. Just a bit annoying when I'm letting line out and look down to watch for the desired depth and it's not working, so reel the line back in, "unstick" the counter and release the line again. Also, sometimes the level to set the reel in free-spool doesn't release. I need to wind the reel a bit and try to release the lever to free-spool a second and rarely a third time to get it to work. For the money, this was definitely a good buy, just a couple of quirks.

Not bad
Was using Shakespeare ATS line counters and needed another couple trolling set ups. The ATS reels have served me well for the money so far but have come close to these in price. Never owned an Okuma reel so gave these a try. I like the power handles that are included and the drag works well. Only dislike I have is putting the reel into free spool it some times forces you to reel in some for it to allow you to put it into free spool. Did it enough times on my first trip out with them to notice it. It will go into free spool but the spool is still "locked" into forward. Pulling line out sometimes gets it to unlock or cranking the handle and trying again...

Small and Tough
You just can't beat Okuma. I have 4 of these and 3 other Okuma reels. Light on the pocketbook, lightweight and tough on the fish. The depth counter is especially handy for getting to the right depths which is a must when fishing for the big Rock fish in the Chesapeake. With 300 yards of #40 braid (they'll hold a thousand) there isn't much they can't handle. Only down side is that they are made in China, but the same goes for the other major brands.

Happy with it!
Very happy with it. It's better than my other brand of reel (which was slightly more expensive). Fair quality for the price. Drag is relatively smooth (not ratty) compared to other low end reels I tried. Reel in ratio is perfect. Smooth. Only slight criticism is that it doesn't feel as "solid" as other more expensive reels. I would buy another one and probably will soon.

A very good reel for the price
A very good reel for the price. I wanted one with the "depth counter" feature as I fish from a small boat, and use an electronic fish finder to locate the fish. I can let the line down to their depth and increase the chances of the fish biting the lure. The reel is on a downrigger trolling rod, and is a very good match for the heavier salmon and trout that it was intended for. While I have only been using it for a month, I have had no problems and it has performed as such a reel should.

Very nice reel for the price
I was looking for an affordable reel to be used for a Fenwick trolling rod I only use occasionally, so I didn't want to spend a pile of money on the reel. This Reel exceeds my expectations as far as quality for the price. Despite having a lot of plastic, it seems like a very high quality reel for the low cost. I would definitely recommend this reel to someone looking for an affordable levelwind with a line counter.

Carrete económico
Es un carrete acorde al precio, si no se le dan buenos cuidados no resiste la corrosión. Pero en general trabaja bien.

Good choice for trolling
Product arrived on time and in good condition. Currently using this reel for my Dipsy Diver setup for lake trout and salmon. Reel works very well and seems to have a pretty smooth drag system for its price point. I will be buying more in the future!

Nice to get back to the exact distance of line you had out trolling when you have caught a fish.
I like for the size of the reel that it is fairly light so should be a pleasure to fish all day. I will be using this to troll for Striped Bass here in New Brunswick.Bob

I think the price is good and deliver on time
This is the new version of Okuma Classic Pro GL302L that was bought in US 2 years ago but with depth counter and auto off-on. I think the price is good and deliver on time. I like to recommend it.

This is the second one I've purchased. Two friends also bought one based on testing mine out.
Great reel for the money. Took it out for 3 days of trout fishing and it worked flawlessly.
