Good quality. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Worked out perfectly as described. So far I have not had the sprouts fully materialize as of yet. However I’m sure they will.

I am using this mason jar to sprout broccoli seeds. I have been growing the little sprouts for about 5 days - very easy to do the sprouting - my first time ever. Most of the seeds have germinated. Most important to me is that the stainless steel lid and cover do not rust - I bought this Natural Roots mason jar because of the assurance that it would not rust. So far so good, but, as I said, I’ve only been using the jar for 5 days. Fingers crossed that it will remain rust-free. I did need to buy - from a different company - a jar holder, so that the jar is slanted at a 45’ angle for easy drainage.

It works well and came with good directions. The price is a little high for a wide mouth mason jar and lid (even if the cap is a strainer). But it got me started and since I have many large wide mouth mason jars I just ordered sprouting lids as I needed more. Obviously if you are going to sprout and consume sprouts daily you will need at least 4 jars . That gives you enough to eat while the next batch is sprouting .

I use it for sprouting moong daal. I had a different variety of daal before which was thicker. Even after 12 hours of soaking it, some of the daal still didnt absorb any water. It was like 10 to 15% of daal was still very hard. Changed the daal to a little smaller variety. It worked out perfectly after that. All of the daal absorbed water in about 8 hours. Then I remove excess water and clean it a few times. Next 8-12 hours sprouts come out good. I take out sprouted daal and keep it in refrigerator to prevent further sprouting which makes it bitter in taste. Jar is ready for another round of soaking. Overall, this product helped with making this process simpler.

This sprouting system is simple to use and is a great way to have organic produce I grow myself with almost no effort in just a couple of days. My intention was to use this system to sprout Mung beans. I bought two of these sprouting jars and lids in July 2022. I figured that I could have one jar of sprouts in the fridge to eat while the other jar of sprouts was growing, so I would never run out. I like to wash my jars and sterlize them with boiling water between batches. These Ball jars seem ideal for that purpose. I have had no breakage or cracking, and there is no sign of rust on the stainless steel lids. I've used this system for months now, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

The instructions for use were absolutely fantastic. By following them we grew some delicious sprouts. The people who sell seeds should copy their instructions. We are on our second batch of growing sprouts and love our jar/lid. Strongly recommend this product.

Ordered this jar and other kinds ($18 for 2 jars and accessaries) to compare. The size of the jars is exactly the same, and the caps can be interchangeable. This jar has a little decoration on the body, which I am not sure if worth paying more. Time will tell if this jar is of better quality.

I enjoy growing my own sprouts and this sprouting jar set with the stainless steel lid is great. I don’t want to deal with lids that rust, so I especially appreciate this set because the lids are made with high quality stainless steel and don’t rust. For any one contemplating on buying this set, I highly recommend it. Sprout on!
