Backyard Discovery Buckley Hill Cedar Wood Swing Set with Wave Slide, Play Deck, Rock Wall Ladder, Belt Swings, Chalkboard, Canopy Roof, Outdoor Playset

Great little playset for toddlers. This was a surprise for my kids so I assembled this in sections in my garage over the course of 3 evenings, hiding it under sheets so the kids wouldn't see it. I put the A frame side and swing beam together then the playhouse section minus the the slide, then carried it all out in the backyard one afternoon while the kids were away and bolted the sections together, added the slide, swings and ground anchors. If you have access to a hammer, drill, impact driver with sockets attachments and some C-clamps its a breeze. If you don't it can still be assembled relatively easily with a hammer, drill, screwdriver and crescent wrench. I kept track of the time I spent each evening and the time it took for final assembly in the yard and the whole thing took less than 8 hours total. If I had an entire day to do it in one shot, I bet it could have been assembled in about 6 hours, less if you have another handy friend helping. The build quality is decent, I didn't have any split/cracked boards or missing hardware like other people have mentioned. I did take the time to shoot all the wood pieces with an Olympic deck stain/sealer prior to assembly. That time isn't included in my above mentioned a 8 hours simply because the time it took me was probably much less than the average Joe as I was able to shoot all the pieces before assembly in a large paint booth with the right equipment at my shop. If I didn't, I probably would have assembled the whole thing, minus the plastic play accessory pieces (slide, swings, chalkboard etc) and sprayed it in the yard. Its not the largest playset and I probably wouldn't expect anyone older than 8 to play on it, but for the price I think its well worth the 5 or so years the kids will use it.

The perfect playground for our kids!! We are so happy with how it looks and how structurally sound it is. It was definitely an all day build because we only had 1 person doing it, but the digital instructions were incredible. The warranty is also really great - had to replace 2 boards because they split when we drilled into it, but they are sending new ones. The little playhouse is so much fun for our daughter and we added an infant swing for our little one. Highly recommend this product and brand - the stain and wood itself is really beautiful too. Such a great price for the product as well. Also it only came in 1 box, but my orders said 2. But everything even the slide came in one box!

I gave this product four stars because it is exactly for what I bought it for; A small play set for my 18 month old granddaughter to play on when she visits. It is perfect for that. She will get several years of use out of it before she out grows it. The play set is small and only designed to hold small children. There is not enough room for an adult to climb on it with their child, nor do I think it is designed to hold the weight of an adult. If you are looking for a play set you can climb on with your child and slide down the slide with your child this is NOT the play set for you. Also, if you have a child that is 4 or 5 years old, I would not recommend this play set, as they may already be too big for it. Now as for the assembly: The play set was not really hard to assemble, but it was very time consuming. I am a very handy guy and it took me about 8 hours over the course of three days to assemble it. The instructions are actually very good. Make sure you read them carefully. There are a lot of different fasteners, washers and other miscellaneous hardware. It is very easy to mix them up. TAKE YOUR TIME. Also, I recommend assembling as much as you can, in or near your garage and then moving the fort and swing beam as two separate pieces to the spot in your yard where you want to place them. The pieces themselves are not very heavy and are fairly easy to move. It is easier to move around the two separate pieces to get them placed exactly where you want and then do the final assembly steps. Be careful if using a power drill to install fasteners. The wood is soft. It is easy to over tighten fasteners or even strip out the pre-drilled screw holes. When assembly portions of the fort that make a square, make sure you measure across the square diagonally in both directions to ensure the assembly is square BEFORE tightening the fasteners (that is a helpful tip not mentioned in the instructions). One last tip, you may want to consider purchasing some thread locker (Loctite) from your local hardware or auto parts store. Get the removable grade, no the permanent grade. Apply a drop to the first few threads of each fastener before installing it. This will keep the fasteners from coming loose over time. I know this is a long review, but I hope it helps.

We were looking for a cute, sturdy play set for our 3 y/o grandson to play on at our home. I wanted him to be able to do more than climb. Now he can climb, and swing, and even create (in the shade). I think I'll add a saucer swing for him. It took my husband and I just over 3 hours to put this together. It feels sturdy and looks great! Good deal.

I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase of this swing set!!! As long as you have people to help with assembly, I say BUY IT NOW while it's still in stock! It was by far the best quality one for the money and I spent hours and hours searching online. INSTALLATION: it took 4 of us around 6 hours total (including cleanup) to built the swing set and we worked right along, organized everything quickly, with multiple drills and no hang-ups so I'm not sure the 4 hour thing is realistic unless you're used to building swing sets as a job. That being said - laying out the wood on tarps organized by letter and the bags of hardware in numerical order (you can just use the lid of the small box) was really helpful so we could quickly locate parts and not get frustrated. They recommend screwing the base piece of wood on the slide before you put the slide together - this didn't make much sense to us so we pieced it together, then drilled and it went super fast and required no extra measuring/guesswork. ENJOYMENT LEVEL: Our 3 year old LOVES this!! The chalkboard is excellent - the chalk (not included) shows up so well on the plastic board - all chalkboards should be made out of this stuff lol. The rock wall is so cute and easy for young climbers to learn on and there's plenty of space to hang out in the tower or underneath it. We added a pirate wheel and a play telescope and he enjoys both of those aspects but they are definitely not necessary. SAFETY: As a parent, my favorite thing is that this isn't a humungous swing set so I'm not worried about him climbing up alone into the tower or being in the tower even if we are in another part of the yard or watching through the sliding door - I feel safe with it being closer to the ground than some of the larger, more expensive ones. The slide also isn't too huge so I'm not worried about him falling off of it. The fort in general is very well enclosed with the wood bars and mesh on the sides. I REALLY like that for his age, the fact that there is only one side that's really open of the fort so there's no accidental falls out of it backwards or anything. I'm 5'4" and weigh 135lbs and can swing on it (it does sway and the wood makes noises more with me, but it supports me just fine!) and I also can fit up in the little fort with him. The slide is narrow so I cannot fit down that but the sturdiness of the entire set is great and we are very pleased with it! My dad weighs just under 200lbs and also could sit on the swing - he didn't really swing - just sat - but it didn't have a problem holding his weight. EXTRA: We also added cute little solar deck lights to the side and the top and they worked out really nicely. This is a great swing set for the price! The only downside is the assembly- took two guys about 5 hours to put it together. The instructions were pretty good though! Great quality!

I’m not one to leave negative reviews, but parents need to understand the gamble they’re taking with this product. We were excited when the playground arrived. The packaging was already bursting and damaged, which I brushed off because that can happen. We checked the planks and everything seemed fine at first. We followed the instructions to build the larger, more stable section first with no issues. Then we got to the fort. The wood had the integrity of the packaging it came in and started cracking in my hands! Completely unacceptable. On top of that, out of roughly a million pieces, a critical rail was missing. At that point, the whole thing became useless. I’ve honestly never had an experience this bad. But the cherry on top is that after FIGHTING my way through customer service and getting told off until I escalated it to a supervisor, they wanted to offer me a measly partial refund and then had the gall to act like we were at some bazaar negotiating, starting with a $54 partial refund and then $80 until I got it up to $107, asking if this is all a joke? Still garbage service. Just so you guys know you can get more if you don't give up... This is not a small purchase. Now I’m left with a half-built, nonfunctional pile of wood that I have to reinforce and make safe myself and zero confidence in this company or Amazon.

Once built this little swing set is perfect for my 3yr old and 1yr old to enjoy many hours of fun in our own yard, but I do feel it has some quality issues that led to a longer-than-needed assembly time. I will note, on assembly time, that my husband was able to assemble this himself with a little help from my father to hold up some pieces when needed and it took around 10 hrs total with the hurdles he encountered. I started my perception of this swing set with a 5 star rating in mind (as I do for any product) and as each issue arose that contributed to my overall decision to decrease star rating accordingly. I will note each problem in a numbered list. 1. When assembling the "rockwall" ladder 3 of the board's ended up splitting nearly half of the length when the climbers were screwed on. This wasn't due to over -tightening as it happened almost as soon as the screw began to twist in. 2. On the A-frame the holes were not bored out enough for the bolt to reach all the way through at the top joint. This resulted in the need to purchase a set of "paddle" drill bits to finish boring the hole to a point that the bolt could reach through. 3. There were many holes that were undersized or not lined up properly, resulting in the need to re-drill them. 4. The written directions aren't 100% sequential, resulting in completing an assembly to only find out you had to unassembled a piece of it to insert something else later on down the line. 5. Several of the boards themselves, such as those used for the floor of the tower, are rougher than I would expect them to be and required additional sanding to prevent kids getting splinters. 6. This one is absolutely minor, but the "chalkboard" is nothing more than a piece of rigid plastic. There is no actual chalkboard surface to it. Again, this was the smallest issue to me, but I do believe it merits being mentioned. When completed this is sturdy enough for a few small children to play on at a time, and I'm sure will hold upnto the elements well enough until we need to upgrade to a bigger set in a few years. So, overall I'm satisfied, and I'm sure some of our problems would be experienced with any set, but I did want to note our experience to help other potential buyers.

Amazing product easy to assemble took about 3 to 4 hours. My kids are loving it so far.
