I was pretty hesitant to purchase this for our split king (two Twin XL mattresses on separate adjustable bases--both head and feet) given some of the reviews. I agree that the overall product seems pretty cheaply made for the price but so far so good. Process I took: * I placed our individual mattress covers and individual Twin XL sheets on after placing the straps in place underneath. *Clasped the band over the top of the two mattresses and cinched. *Then placed a very deep pocketed King sheet with a considerable band around the edge (these sheets are awesome) over everything. It's working out perfectly. The mattresses haven't budged and we can still utilize the adjustable bases just fine even with the King sheet over it all. I do think having a sheet with extra deep pockets was a must but our mattresses are also thick with a euro top. We'll see how long the plastic clasps last when it's time to clean all of the sheets.

A few years ago, hubby and I splurged on a beautiful split-mattress Temperpedic. Totally worth the money. But, after a few nights of sleeping, the two mattresses would slide further and further apart, which would eventually create a chasm of doom. My beloved fur baby would consistently jump up on the bed for snuggles and SHLOOP! Straight into the chasm of doom. Granted, he would only fall 10 inches or so before abruptly stopping at the bed base, it was still quite alarming. Not having researched the chasm of doom gap-stop options, we immediately purchased a bolster to bridge the gap. Cool cool cool cool. Until it too fell victim to the dark void. Because our individual mattresses are at different configurations (head higher, feet higher, etc.) the bolster just wouldn't stay in place. Enter, the BEDBINDER! The answer we didn't know we needed. It took less than five minutes to install, it might have taken less had the fur baby not thought it was playtime. I was concerned that we would be able to feel the material under the sheets, but we did not. It lays smooth, didn't bunch at all, and 100% closed up the chasm of doom! The straps don't slide or loosen, the fabric stays put, and the sheets magically fit over nicely. Absolutely worth every penny.

It does a decent job of keeping the mattresses together, but it really bunches up a lot. I've had to take a steamer to try and steam it out.

This bed binder should come automatically with every split king motion bed. The first couple months of our new bed were difficult. Sliding into the crack, not being able to sleep next to your partner, the mattresses working themselves apart, and “activities” that became very awkward. THIS BED BINDER IS AWESOME. It took us about 3 minutes to install and it works perfectly. A couple of hints: I was glad I read not to pull it too tight. Don’t scrunch the sides of your mattress. It isn’t necessary. We put it in the middle of the mattresses. Raising the foot up makes it easy to slide under the mattress. (Do not go under the mechanical bed part. Just under the mattress.) Make sure you have the connection pad totally flat. The twin XL sheets go right over the bed binder. I worried they would be awkward where the binder connects the two mattresses, but they are fine. We also do not feel the binder under the sheets. It does have plastic connectors but they are fine, not flimsy as some reviews reported. THIS PRODUCT IS THE ANSWER TO THE CRACK. LOL

We purchased 2 twin xl mattresses with adjustable frames and needed something to keep them together and be able to raise each mattress individually. This bedbinder did the trick with no problem. I can raise my side and watch TV while my wife sleep in flat position. It keeps both matresses together without seeing a gap. Well, after 1 week the plastic clamp broke. Great idea, but cheap quality. Not worth the price.

We were tired or our two twin XL mattresses slipping apart with the "celibacy gap" between them. The Bedbinder works well to keep them together. We paired it with a split king sheet set to keep the head independently adjustable (I sleep with mine slightly elevated for snore control). The secret to installation is to NOT cinch the straps down a lot. You don't need a lot of tension to keep the mattresses in place. We loosened it several times to get it so it didn't actually "crush" the mattress sides at all. Still secure and no fear of breaking the buckles, etc. Overall we were impressed with the packaging and quality of the product.

Doesn’t keep bed from splitting and bunches/wrinkles under the sheet at your legs. Very annoying. Also clip unclamps often. Had such high hopes. Past return window.

It would be great to have a wider binder. I ended up buying another cheaper one so that I could have it across more of the mattress. I use this one on the top end of the bed as it is thicker
