It seems to be very common with this shroud (I've seen many images of fresh engines on the Internet that also had the dull finish on their shrouds)
Chrome finish is awful. I've seem EMPI produce chrome plating the was mirror-like finish (on the *inside* of the item and *not* where it can be viewed). It seems to be very common with this shroud (I've seen many images of fresh engines on the Internet that also had the dull finish on their shrouds). The "non-trimmed" shroud which I returned and replaced with this one was flawlessly chromed).
