3 months after purchase - Very happy with it
Overall: I've been using this treadmill consistently for almost 3 months now. I'm very pleased with this machine. To the point that I've recommended it to a couple of friends already (although, they are unable to accommodate this type of purchase at this time. But they want to get it someday). Prior to getting this treadmill, I wouldn't be able to get in a daily walk. I'd try, but going outside in the Midwest can be difficult if the weather is being a pain. On top of that, I have other responsibilities, interests, hobbies, etc...Setting aside a minimum 30min to take a walk every day isn't that difficult. But, there's only so many hours in a day to accomplish everything I want to do. I used to have to make sure I scheduled appropriately so that everything would get done that needed done. With this treadmill (and the setup I have it in) I can multitask so many things. I have it set up at my desk with my computer, and a TV above the monitors. Various things I've been able to accomplish while using this unit: my digital photos are organized beautifully, my bills are paid up and budget is more detailed, I've designed multiple designs for various hobbies, I work from home sometimes, I've watched movies and ate dinner at my desk. That's just some of it. I get significantly more things accomplished AND haven't had this much exercise in years. Comfort: I will say...wear the right shoes. I've walked wearing my well-fitted slippers before. Usually because of a spur of the moment idea to hop on and check an email quickly, but I end up sidetracked and doing a lot of other things. When this would happen, I'd end up with a lot of foot pain. When I wear my Hoka sneakers, I'm great. Never any foot/ankle/knee discomfort. Just muscle pains from walking way too much and forgetting to stretch before & after. Length: It's perfect for me. My desk is 3ft deep. I have the head of the treadmill just 2" or so shy of meeting the back of my desk. I'm 5'2", so I have a short stride. But for me, it's perfect. I can walk just towards the back (but not all the way to the back where I might slip off). This does mean I have to use the Manual feature, but that's okay with me. The Auto feature made me nervous anyways (just a personal preference thing and NOT anything against the feature itself). With the length it has, and my short stride, I have minimal need to move it in and out from my desk. The fold: It's easy to fold it. I don't fold it often, but sometimes when I realize I've gotten hyper focused on a project and have been walking for many hours, I decide I should take a break. What I do is push the whole treadmill back the last 2" or so inches that I have before it hits the wall/back of my desk. Then I fold it and I can still pull my high-sitting chair up to my desk and use it. I do have to make sure the chair legs are aligned properly with the treadmill, and it does touch the treadmill in order for me to sit the appropriate distance from the desk. However, I thoroughly enjoy having this choice, and especially enjoy the minimal movement required. The first under desk treadmill I tried didn't fold, and I had to do a lot more to get it moved around so I could use my chair. Calibration: I've only had to use the calibration feature once, when I was doing some minor adjustments to the belt. I appreciate this feature. The under desk treadmill prior to this one, and that one was a PAIN to calibrate. If it didn't sense someone was on the treadmill, it shut off. Now, this was a nice safety feature, but when trying to calibrate and check belt slippage issues, that wasn't helpful. This machine does not have that type of issue and I found working with it, in this context, to be very easy. Safety: There's no safety feature, which I'm actually okay with. That's because I only use my treadmill when I'm at my desk. My hands/forearms are always resting on my desk, which keep me steady. The only time I've had any safety concern is when a family member will walk in and try to have an in depth conversation with me. I've tripped once while trying to turn my head to look at them during a conversation. Now, we keep the talks short while I'm walking, or if they know it's going to be longer then they let me know and I stop the machine. Display: I'm not a huge fan of the fact that the display clears away all information when you stop the machine. There's no pause option. In another stage of life, it would have been a deal breaker (when I was tracking my workouts better). However, I'm at a point in life where I just don't care to track it anymore. I know that I walk a minimum of 30min a day, significantly more on weekends. I don't even pay attention to the display anymore (except to occasionally see what speed I'm at). Speed: I rarely fiddle with it. The starting speed is 1mph. That's usually what I stick with. I might bring it up to 1.5mph once in a while. But usually the standard 1mph is perfectly fine for me. If I'm working on computer design stuff, which requires me to be more careful/detail oriented, I stick with 1mph. However, this morning all I've been doing is paying bills, checking email, reading Reddit, and writing this review. So I've been using 1.5mph. It's my personal preference to keep it lower, but I have gone up to 2mph before. But, with how I multitask when I use the machine, I keep it slow and steady. Belt slippage: None. I remember reading reviews before buying where people complained about the belt slipping and having troubles getting it aligned right. My thought process when I ignored these: What is the likelihood these were user error issues? In the chance they weren't, my husband and I are both mechanically inclined individuals. I figured we'd be able to sort it out if I encountered that issue. At one point I did fiddle with the screws a little, to make sure alignment was good. I did the calibration feature during that time. I've never had a problem since. Now, I will say that when you fold it, the belt does lose tension and can move around. All that means is when you unfold it to use it again, before you "click it" open, check how the belt aligns at the very back/along the tracks. If it's not centered well, then when it still has some slack you just move it a little to where you want it to be. As long as the adjustments are appropriately set, you should only have centering issues when you're folding and unfolding and it should stay in place ones you have it centered. That's how it is for me. Remote: No issues with the remote. It's easy to function. Never had connectivity issues. I keep it sitting on my desk, next to my mouse and keyboard. I've had to change the battery once already, but that's fine. The batteries aren't expensive (CR2032) and I never expect the stock batteries that devices come with to have a long life. Bluetooth: Never even tried it. Can't comment on it. I don't have an interested in another app on my phone.

Can you walk and work at the same time?
6 weeks ago, i purchased this on a whim. 50 miles later, i'm walking about 2 miles a day while I work and losing weight. No regrets, no issues so far. Questions I'm asked often by my peers: * do you fold and unfold this daily? - Yes. sometimes twice a day * is it heavy? - Yeah, i think it's 60lbs, but moves easy enough for it to sit under my desk in half and I pull it out and unfold when I want to walk. * Can you really walk with it while working? - Yeah, i'm typing right now, walking a speedy 1 mile an hour. there is a notable difference, but mostly i find if my wrists are touching the desk, i can walk and work without issue. * Does your "insert mobile device" track steps so I can track over time? - uh, no. the iphone and Apple watch capture about 1 of 5 steps while walking 1 mile an hour. I use the walkingPad app, bluetooth connected to track and then manually enter in the steps taken. The screen on the pad also shows steps, but not when stopped. so if you miss tracking, then you'll need to guess. * Is it loud? - no. fairly quiet, no one can hear the "hummmm" while I'm walking and rarely do they even know unless I'm on camera. yes, walking on camera looks like i'm just fidgeting. Pros. - I've hit on most of them in the questions section. But here's my faves: 1. small enough to fit under my desk and it's not too heavy that it's a pain to move around. 2. other than the plastic outer edges, this feels secure enough when in use. AKA, I don't feel like I'm going to be hurt or something will break if i'm cautious and aware of the weight. 3. quiet enough that my spouse can't hear me 20 feet away. Cons - 1. The app. WalkingPad is horrid, has no apparent sync with the iOS Health app. Most recently I get a invalid auth issue that is merely annoying, but enough to irritate since i don't recall creating an account. - supposedly, there's a new app called KS something, all it does is crash. I'm using the latest iOS version on the iPhone 12max pro. If this is still an issue next time i'm updating this review, the product will get 2 stars. 2. to fold and unfold, does require you to hold on until it's closed/open. I suspect users that are not doing this would be the ones complaining of broken parts. I have no idea what would be involved, but a soft close would be very useful. 3. the IR remote port will occasionally get "activated?" and now i'm walking a speedy 3.5mph. 4. Cost. I personally see the health value, but I think the $600 is not what this is worth with a broken app. Now... fix that app and we'll start to see value and cost match up.

So far So good!
I did a good amount of on line research about this product and these under desk treadmills in general. I have my fears, especially given the price of this one. But the folding feature is helpful for me. I can fold it and push it forward under my desk and then I can stand and work. My chair has a few issues because I can't push it forward enough as there is a wall in front of my desk. I am working on this issue, will have to report back. I wish I could stand it on its side for storage but they warn about not doing this so I am not. I have had the treadmill for a few days and so far I am loving it. I am being careful about the tread and keeping it centered. So far it has a tendency to drift to the left but it does not go all the way to rubbing. I am still playing with the adjustment capabilities. Some of it may have to do with how I walk and the angle of the machine in relation to my desk. I am testing all these variables to see. I have not had it long enough to have answers. but I was very impressed with the packaging and instructions were adequate. I use the remote and/or the app to operate and both are adequate so far. Related to my work flow, I could use a pause ability which does not exist unfortunately (5 seconds is not long enough for my needs). But this is not a big deal - I just want to get moving while I am working and so far so good. Sitting long times is not great, standing for long times is not great - and walking, as a natural motion feels good. I have to wear workout clothing when I am working as I can get a real vigorous walk going if I want. I have to figure out how best to work it into my day. Ill have to update my review once some more time has passed. Oh, also the noise is not bad My microphone does not pick it up - its like white noise in the background I think.

Garbage Product
I purchased the King Smith Walking Pad A1 Pro on October 17th during the Amazon "2nd Prime Day" sale after much deliberation and a lot of research on other products that were comparable. I unboxed the product two weeks after purchase and only used it about 5 times. Here is my story...... I purchased this particular product, despite it being one of the most expensive walking pads on the market and despite the fact that King Smith only provided a discount of 10% because I thought at least the fact that it folds would make the product worth it. The videos on the King Smith website as well as You Tube show an easily foldable walking pad that the customer would simply lay flat and unfold. My experience was that it took an extreme amount of effort to unfold. So much so that I had to have some one who weighs at least 150 pounds more than me to lay the product flat for me to use it. Given the ease of use which is advertised on the King Smith website, amazon, and You Tube I thought maybe it was user error on my part. I even thought maybe I lack the upper body strength. But none of the users on any of the King Smith videos looked like they needed upper body strength to unfold this product. It never got any easier to lay flat. The handful of times that I was able to lay the walking pad flat or have it laid flat for me, the belt would constantly drift to one side of the walking pad edge resulting in the belt fraying on both sides, because it kept drifting on either side. So now I have a walking pad that I cannot open with a torn up belt on both sides. I always try to check myself first, before I wreck myself or blame the company, but for $500 and less than 5 times of use this product was an epic fail and I feel scammed to be 100% honest. I did the research and I gave King Smith my money and in exchange they gave me garbage. As of November 11th, I have requested a full refund from Amazon and I have written King Smith to notify them of their failure. I always read the reviews for every product, just like any other customer. You have been warned. * Just a note to Amazon: You need to stop making people rate stars for products that are defective. Even one star is too much for a bad product and a bad experience.

Great item- exactly what I was looking for in an under desk treadmill.
At the time of writing this review, I've had this walking pad setup for about a week now- and I've been using it for about 1-2 hours every day so far. Generally- this product has been incredible and has enabled me to get in an additional 5000-12500 steps a day while working at my standing desk. I'm walking on it right now as I'm writing this review!. It is very quiet and the belt moves very smooth. The foldability was the main reason I purchased this item in particular- and it is even easier to use than expected. It folds incredibly easy and is very maneuverable with the built in wheels. I do have a few slight complaints, but nothing that would effect my overall enjoyment of the product so I haven't docked their rating for these: 1. The plug is not flush with the front of the machine, meaning I need to unplug it every time I shift it over to my storage location (which is a tight fit). 2. The machine auto-shuts off and requires a 30 minute cooldown period after a certain amount of time walking. 3. There is no pause feature on the remote and you must restart the timer/step counter each time you need to step away. Am planning to continue using this to get my10,000 steps every work day for the foreseeable future and I will check back in on this review if my experience has any notable changes.

You can walk on it...
This machine is not terrible. You can in fact walk on in. It has never stopped working. It has never broken down. However, it gets a lower rating for two reasons: 1. It is not so easy to put away. It does have wheels to help and it folds, but there is no where to grab it to move it. The parts you grab are all very flimsy. It doesnโt store upright very well and you donโt get much space back just by folding it and leaving it in place. 2. It makes a whirring sound and heats up a lot. The sound is loud (not loud enough to drowned out a tv, but loud enough you wouldnโt want to take a work call on it) even after Iโve applied the silicone lubricant... a lot. Iโm 6โ and just over 200 lbs but below the 220 capacity. I can walk on it for a couple hours but it doesnโt feel stable and the sound can be annoying for that long.

Reliable so far
I have used this every day for an hour going on 3 months now. Every day I unfold it and refold it and it seems to be holding up. I have 3 gripes about it. 1. There is no pause! It drives me nuts that you can't pause it. There is a pause button on the app/controller but when you push it the treadmill come to a stop and 5 seconds later it ends the workout session. Why can't I pause it, deal with my kid for 2 minutes then get back on and continue without loosing my workout progress?! It starts the time and everything over to 0 after I 'pause'. 2. Static buildup. I believe this is a problem on all treadmills though. If I am not holding on to my metal desk or metal keyboard I get zapped when I touch them. 3 and this is minor. The belt walk adjustment is a little finicky. If you get it to center using the centering mode where the belt spins without you walking on it, as soon as you walk on it the belt shifts. You have to walk on it then adjust then repeat a few time to get it right. Good news it says good for about 2 months before you have to do it again. Other than that its been fantastic.

Excellent under the desk treadmill, moderate to heavy use
I love this treadmill. I have dropped more than 10-lbs and feel better because of it. Getting steps in throughout the day is amazing. I have owned this piece of equipment for awhile now, and have put 600-miles on it. I maintain it as described in the owners manual and so far, no issues. This is my 3rd under the desk treadmill, and is by far the most expensive model I have owned. My other two treadmills began showing issues within a month of ownership. This one costs more, but so far the extra cost has been worth it. It is not perfect though, it has its flaws. Yes- the belt slips to one side no matter how often it is recentered. Has it affected its performance? Not really. Is it annoying? At first it was a little, but now I really donโt care. It is easy enough to adjust and really isnโt worth being concerned about. I read the manual and follow the instructions and it works fine albeit a little off center. Another critique is that when folded it must remain flat. I would like to be able to hide it behind my office door when not in use but that is not an option. Usually, I use it between 1 and 4-hours daily, in up to 60-min sessions. I make sure to let it cool down completely between uses. Compared to the other models I have owned this model runs a lot cooler. You can hear a fan kick in after a few minutes of it running. It is sturdy and the platform feels well constructed. I do not use the included remote aside from calibrating the machine every now and again; instead I opt to use the app on my iphone- which works well. I manually turn on the switch, reconnect the app and pick a program, or just push โgoโ and set a speed. It is very easy. It is a bit louder than Iโd hoped it was, however it is on par with the other machines Iโve owned. If youโre using while on a work call you need to be muted. A mat under, or carpeting will help with that issue but itโs a treadmill - noise should be expected. All in all I am extremely pleased with this device and would recommend it to someone looking for a way to get some steps in throughout the day.

! month usage review
I've been using the treadmill while working with my standup desk for a month now. First of all, the order was received very quickly with Prime. The packaging was perfect. The treadmill was easy to set up. I like that it is foldable because I don't have much space and I need to fold it at night. I can walk at 2,5 km/h when I'm doing meetings, but only at 2,0 km/h when I'm working on the computer. Now, I usually walk on it several hours a day, between 5 and 7 hours honestly. I usually do around 25-30K steps and a distance of 10-15km / day. I think it should be mandatory to use the little bottle of oil before use to make sure to lubricate the belt. That belt seems not of the higher quality, but much better than some reviews said. Thickness is fair enough for this price range. In term of noise, I would say it is about the dB level of a fan or an A/C. Sometimes, when the motor heats up (I presume?) there seems to be a fan that gets on for a little while. I've read some reviews, even outside Amazon, that tell about people having to deal with error code ER05 or ER06, which, according to the manufacturer, are related to the motor. I had this error on a few occasions and I was able to determine what causes that. Here it is: Sometimes, I stop the treadmill for a pause, but I keep standing on it. If I do that for let's say an hour or so when I try to start the treadmill again, it will display ER06 or ER05 and I can see that the belt is not moving. Actually, the motor tries to move it but it stops because there is resistance. I realized that on these few occasions, the belt seem to sticks to the plastic conveyor. Turning off the treadmill and simply using my hands to gently lift the belt, I can hear the belt unsticking from the conveyor, and then turning on the treadmill again it works perfectly. Maybe I would need to lubricate the belt more often. Overall very happy with this treadmill.
