Yes,, this yeast is for baking. (SAF Instant Yeast)

I revived my order today. however, the bag is not hard like it this normally is. should i be concerned? i cannot locate a tear or hole.

It will age faster while on shelf without vacuum seal working. It might still be good but you may wish to consider an exchange.

Is this the same type of yeast that comes in packets? So I just add that same amount to my flour ?

No, it is instant or rapid yeast. Recipes specifically call for it. To my understanding, the yeast in packets is “active yeast” and needs to be mixed with warm water to be activated.
