True support for your wrist - 100% recommended
I was looking for a good wrist band for a firm support. I recently started playing tennis and started feeling pain in my wrist as well as fingers after playing for an hour or two. This wrist band does it's job so well that you can feel the firmness and support while playing or performing any other activity. I ordered a small size (as my wrist is small) and it fits firmly on my hand even without strapping the band. Though the strapping band will give you more support and firmness as required. Also it cured my wrist pain quickly as it support the wrist firmly, so though you perform any activities with the same hand the pressure is reduced on your wrist. Pros: -- Strong and firm support. 100% recommended. 5 stars, no doubt -- Good for wrist pain -- Good for sports where you have to use your wrist a lot (specially racquet sports). -- Quality material. May last long, looks durable. -- Fairly priced and does it's job well. I haven't seen this brand in any store which is really sad as consumers may benefit with such a good product. I am using it always while playing tennis and it has played a part in improving my game and make me last long on the court without any worry. As its job is to firmly support your wrist you may feel it is bit tight. But still is fairly comfortable to wear it for several hours. I don't think this is a point to snatch a star because we need that firmness to perform day to day activities while it is on our wrist. Next I am going to try it while Bowling and am pretty sure it will give me the firmness and support that I need. Cheers... Update May 24th 2012 2:00 PM EST: I ordered small but they shipped me Medium and it fits well. I have a small wrist, so my suggestion would be to order medium because small would be actually for tiny wrists. Though it's a wonderful product.

Great wrist support!
I had a very bad sprain to my wrist and needed a support so I would be able to play a tournament that was only 4 weeks away. I am a 125lb woman and my wrist is 6.5 inches. I originally ordered this wrist support in a large after reading so many reviews that it runs unbelievably small. Well, the large came and it practically spun around on my wrist without the strap velcroed. If I velcroed the strap then there was a small "fold" of the material, which wasn't all that comfortable. So I quickly ordered the small/medium. The small/medium was snug to pull on and stayed snug on my wrist and then the strap added that additional support. Yes, it is snug but that is what you want with a support I would expect. The small/medium gave me the support I need to play the sport. I then took the large one and put it on behind the small. So I had the small support at my wrist and the large one behind it on my forearm towards my elbow. It is a very well made wrap and certainly offered my wrist the support I needed for this tournament weekend. I hope this helps those trying to decide on a size.

Almost perfect
Overall this brace is excellent, and makes my wrist feel strong. It has helped me both at my desk using a trackball and at work using kitchen knives and general tasks. Here is my summary, good and bad: Good: very easy to put on since it is just an elasticized tube that easily slips over your hand onto the wrist area. I tried a competitor where the brace is a long strip and you have to try to wrap the strip around your wrist. That was nearly impossible to do since you have to do it with only one hand and matching the ends plus trying to stretch it was crazily frustrating so I returned that one. On this the tube is easy to slip on and the fabric is very comfortable against my skin. Once it is on the wrist all you need to do is adjust the velcro strap as snug as you want for the support level that is most comfortable. The velcro is super strong so once set this brace is going to stay put. Bad: As mentioned the velcro is super strong but that is also a bit of a drawback because it is really difficult to get it loose again for removal. It is impossible to get it loose if you start at the end because there is not a tab to grab, you just have to try to peel it back but there is nothing to grab onto. I saw other reviewers who mention this also and the best technique is to slip your finger in where the velcro strap goes through the plastic loop and leaves a bit of a gap you can wiggle your finger into. Then start working it loose back up to the end. Even that is not easy but it works. Overall 4 stars because the brace works very well and is comfortable and easy to install. 5 stars for that but I'm docking a star overall because of the difficulty in loosening the velcro once it is attached McDavid, if you read reviews I would suggest making the velcro a little less grippy and/or incorporating a tab at the end you can actually hold on to in order to strip the velcro back.

Really helps my wrist tendinitis
This past year I started to get wrist pains after having played tennis for 10 pain-free years (minus a few sore shoulders). At first I ignored it and chalked it up to over use. After a few weeks of rest I saw no improvement and shut down tennis for a few months time. I purchased a small wrist cast for use when at home, etc to not overuse my ailing wrist daily. After finally giving in and seeing a doctor, they saw it for what it is.. a mild case of tendinitis. They recommended a brace and rest (tried both). After a while of sitting out, I recognized that not playing tennis anymore was not a viable option. I looked into products for use while playing and came across this product which had great reviews. I purchased it and immediately got back out on the court. I could still feel a little pull on the wrist, but 95% of the shots felt right -- so I continued use. My wrist has started to feel much better, but I'll continue to use this product for the foreseeable future until I'm confident everything is back to normal. I've already purchased 2 of these, since I have a talent for leaving them on chairs and benches after matches.

If you're unlucky might get one that has insane Velcro sticking strength...
So I read almost all the reviews and questions before ordering. Almost everyone said this wrist wrap runs small. I even search up what people with ~6 inch wrist bought. Almost everyone said that S/M was too tight for them and some with less than 6 inch wrist circumference said they felt the wrap was too tight. Because of all the feedback, I ordered a L/XL even though my wrist falls upder 7" (my wrist is 6 1/4 btw) and should be getting the S/M under McDavid's size chart. The L/XL was too large for me and I was not feeling and sort of compression and had to use the Velcro strap to for it to provide and type of support. Because of this, I decided to a return/exchange for a S/M. The S/M wrap that I received fit way better and fits me well. It offers good amount of compression. However, If I tighten it down fully with the Velcro it would be too tight. So I only slightly tighten it down and keep the Velcro strap kind of loose. But moving on from that, oh boy that Velcro strap is freaking insane.... At first I thought I received a defective item. It was sticking on so tight that I thought it was super glued or sewn on.. However, with enough pulling I was able to get the Velcro loose. Then later on, I put it on my wrist and used the Velcro Strap and I could freaking pull the Velcro off. I almost injured my left wrist trying to pull this thing off. I had to slip a ruler underneath the wrap where the Velcro didn't stick and slowly try to pry it off. Eventually, I google what I can do to make Velcro less sticky. I tried cutting the hooks and fuzz side a a bit with the scissor. It still didn't work. Finally, I ran the fuzz part over some dust and the Velcro finally works normally and I can pull if off without injuring my left arm... Like holy crap, the second wrap I got the Velcro is some insane industrial strength Velcro compared to the first one I received... It was insane.....

Bad Joints - Get Some!
I have bad joints, e.g. knees, wrists, shoulder, etc. Years of sports, endurance training, martial arts, weights and more have worn my joints down. I had a few surgeries, e.g. partial knee replacement, but the most important thing I learned was listen to your body and protect yourself. As such, I have multiple support items from the Mr Roboto unloader braces to the simple Ace supports you can pick up at your local store. For my wrists, this is the best product I've found. I like the way I can tighten the wrap when needed, when I'm doing shoulder presses or bicep curls, and loosen the straps when not required. The price is superb compared to some of the other products out there. I have two pairs of these and I'll stick with them. I also like the Mehband products but these work fine for the wrists. Hope this helps.

Works As Advertised
I tried one of these wrist supports for my surgically repaired wrist...the surgery was years ago, but it never healed quite right. I already have a neoprene wrist wrap that works pretty well (McDavid also makes a neoprene version of this wrist support that is very good), so I decided to give this elastic-type wrap a go. After three weeks of constant use in the gym (for both weight training and racquetball) I can say that this support has perfomed exactly as I expected. The outer velcro strap allows me to make it as loose or as tight as I want, and I don't get the level of persperation that happens with neoprene wraps (which is a plus for racquetball). These do get a bit wet after playing an hour of singles, so when I went back to Amazon to get a pair of the smaller size wrist wraps for my son (a true "gym rat"), I also got a second wrap for myself. So I just alternate between the two, and I always have a dry one to wear. I you want a simple wrist wrap that gives you varying degrees of support (based on your own choice of how tight you wear it), go ahead and pick this up.

Helped With Working Out With a Ganglion Cyst
I had a ganglion cyst develop in my right wrist from over stressing it. It became painful to work out to the point where I couldn't flex my wrist and would have to do push ups on my knuckles. I continued my work out routine with this product and it significantly stabilized my wrist, helping to prevent excess stress on the joint. Not sure if fixed the issue, but the cyst disappeared completely within a month without changing my exercise routing and hasn't come back (about 7 months now). May not have been the cure, but definitely reduced the pain when I worked out. The strap does fit tight, but that's the point. If it's loose than it won't do any good. At first it feels like circulation is being slightly cut off but it will loosen over time to be more comfortable. I went with the sizing guide on McDavid's website and my wrist was right at the max for the small/medium size. I went with their suggestion and got the small/medium anyways and it's been perfect. Remember, if it's too big it might be a bit more comfortable at first, but it won't be working!
