I'm the type of person who uses caffeine as a drug to stay focused. My friend, who was former military, gave me a pack of these to try. Let me just say that the military money gets results! This was fact acting, small, and cheap. It works out to about $0.25 a cup of coffee- each gum has 100mg caffeine (5 pieces per packet, 24 packs per box). This destroys any other caffeinated products I've ever tried- it beats coffee for price and ease of use. It beats jolt gum cause it has 6x the amount of caffeine jolt does. It beats energy drinks because they are so expensive and loaded with TONS of sugar. These things are extremely portable- just carry in your pocket (they were meant for military!). Great for law enforcement to have in the war bag to stay awake in the field when you are stuck on a call or stakeout. A friend who is in vet school loves these cause they have to stay alert and study so much. To be honest, you don't buy stuff like this for taste. The first minute of these things you just taste the sugar and flavoring, but after that the bitter taste of the caffeine starts to be come apparent. The taste comes out slowly at first, and never completely overpowering, but anyone chewing this just to enjoy gum, and not as a tool to stay awake, would never chose this gum over any other gum in the world for flavor. That being said, the taste isn't terrible. I've had all 5 flavors. The Cinnamon is the worst, and unless you are a fan of big red or gum like that I would avoid it (I don't like Cinnamon flavor). IMO, the Spearmint flavor tastes the best at first (only slightly better than Arctic Mint), but then the caffeine is more noticeable with Spearmint in the end than with Arctic Mint flavor. Overall, if you are going for the best overall flavor experience I chose Arctic Mint. I cannot recommend these enough.

This caffeine gum has saved my career for far too many times to remember. According to the packaging, they've been recommended "safe and effective by the Committee On Military Research", and contain 100 milligrams of caffeine per piece. You chew 1 piece for 5 minutes, and if you aren't alert within 15 minutes of chewing, you chew a second piece. The warning here says to not exceed 2 pieces in 3 hours or 4 pieces in 24 hours. The gum comes in a box with 24 packs, 5 in each. The packs are opened by tearing, and resealed by folding over the teared area. The box itself is card board, and wrapped in plastic wrap. There is more than enough for at least 3 months, assuming that you aren't taking them every single day. Taking too much caffeine allows your body to gain a tolerance to it, which makes the product less effective. They have an acquired, bitter taste which takes some time to get used to (like coffee), but the bitterness fades. The texture of the gum isn't sticky like those from regular gum brands, these gum pieces fall apart after chewing. However, it doesn't take long to absorb the caffeine and dispose of the gum. The gum keep you awake and functioning for a majority for the day, and they've never managed to fail me. Be wary of the side effects of caffeine in general (like increased heart rate and blood pressure), and please make sure to follow their guidelines on how much to take. These can keep for years in a dry place. Overall, these durable, convenient, and safe caffeine gum pieces are the perfect emergency energy source for any late-night projects or work assignments you encounter. They work well, are easily stored, and can be carried for use anywhere.

I was sure that I had to try because I identified myself with this person statement about caffeine. I never drank coffee, I particularly don't like it, so I try to find options when it comes to caffeine because of its alertness effect on me. I tried espresso covered chocolate beans(love it), energy gels(useful for running), whey with caffeine and lastly Natures' Made Vitamin B chews with caffeine. Those all work great too, but they are not always easy to have on hand and the extra calories for chocolate, not the best options to be used every single day and several times a day as this gum. I found it to be excellent, fast acting, easy to have around: in your pocket, purse, "forgotten" in you car, any place that will require you to grab a dose of alertness . At first the taste is sweet as a sweet flavored gum, then it gets a little odd, sweet-bitter but not disgusting. On my first try I have to say that I kind of hate it and there was an after taste. I kept telling myself that I had made a mistake by purchasing a big box . But I also said that I was not willing to let a single piece of gum be the last word. So I decided to try it again in the next morning and right after the first minute of chewing it, I put another regular gum to chew it together. It did the trick very well and from now on I only chew it this way, with another gum. I use mint gum and/or sweet flavored such as Trident layers pineapple-watermelon and both disguise the little unpleasant taste. I haven't tried many energy drinks, the only ones I tried were red bull and 5 hours energy and they are both nasty and I am sure they rest is disgusting as well. If you want that boost of energy you should definitely give it a try. I believe that the gum is far less disgusting than energy drinks for the main reason that you do not have to swallow a ton of sugar and odd flavors, you can chew it for 5 min tops and spit it out and you'll feel energized. As I said, the extra gum does the trick of covering the bad taste if that is your main concern.

Ok, so these work as stated; chewing them energizes me slowly and steadily. I've actually been able to completely stop drinking coffee and energy drinks thanks to these. The negative comes from the aftertaste. So I used to swallow the flavored spit in my mouth while chewing and that left this bitter, foul taste in my mouth. I had to spit it out and drink something to wash that flavor out, which defeated the purpose of the gum. I noticed that while that flavored spit was still in my mouth as I chewed, the experience was perfectly fine. Now when I chew, I don't swallow the entire time. Once I feel energized, I swallow the gum with the mint flavor. No bitter aftertaste; gum will process out of my digestive system in a day or so. No mess, no fuss. Spearmint is the only flavor I've tried so far. Looking forward to trying another flavor. Way WAY less calories then drinking coffee and way healthier for me then any energy drink. Quick, convenient, effective, and manageable flavor. I keep some in my car for those dangerous moments when I'm losing concentration due to exhaustion. I keep some at work when I'm tired. I keep some next to my car keys so I can sleep in in the morning since I'm not wasting time brewing coffee or going out and buying a can then just wake up, prepare, chew, and leave for work.

This gum has been a game changer for me when it comes to getting energy, I just need to chew it for around 1 minute and I feel the same energy that I get from needing to drink a full can of Monster/Celsius and since its just a pack of gum, its fits right in your pocket without needing to carry a energry drink can everywhere. I will say the gum quality is not the best, as the good taste only last 3 minutes. It also states to have sugar, which I guess is because the caffeine taste so bad, but I would perfer if they had a sugarless option. But overall, love this gum

These taste better, much better than the old version. They are almost perfectly non-metallic like the last version and they seem to work just as well.

I Bought Spearmint: I get it, this gum may save someones life if they are a firefighter, police officer, or in the military. If you happen to be an individual in one of those circumstances buy this gum, after all it may save your life by making you more alert. Unfortunately I personally can't stand the taste. My friends agree. I'm in college and I taste some pretty nasty stuff but I can't do this. I've tried aerostats (taste issues as well) and I recognize the bad taste is the caffeine but I would argue that for something to be effective you have to use it. You or at least I won't use something that tastes terrible. Military Energy Gun (MEG) is marketed as being 100mg (dosage) however because you don't eat gum (you chew it) your dosage can never be exact. There will always be some portion of the caffeine still in the gum. That means MEG is less precise than taking a caffeine pill which is comparable if not cheaper in price. I would argue that MEG is a great idea. It provides caffeine to those who cannot stop and drink a cup of coffee. I would argue however that a pill is easier to take, faster, more dosage efficient, and tastes better than this product. If gum is your thing and you can stand the taste go for it. If you have sensitive taste buds just get a caffeine pill. It works the same, is a smaller package, and you don't have to worry about it getting stale. I won't be buying this again, however I may try to use it all. Not sure pretty nasty.The 30 seconds or so are ok, the spearmint flavor tastes good. After that it's all down hill. I also notice my tongue and mouth feel funny (as if they are buzzing) after chewing. Not sure if that's a desirable effect.

Make a lime flavor like the old gatter rad gum . That would be a seller.

Small amount of gum per piece so usually can't chew longer than 15 minutes. 100mg is good when needed although I am usually preferring product 50mg or less per piece. Not individually wrapped / sealed like other product so some odour does get out once pack is opened. Yes - I will likely purchase again when current quantity runs out. Will last me well over a year as I'm also using other caffeine gums.
