I set myself the task of learning Revit with no previous experience. This book is my only guide. As complex and process/sequence based as Revit is, Mr. Wing's book has been stepping me through methodically. There are downloadable models that coincide with each chapter. These are useful as they allow me the freedom to build up the model from each chapter's start, grasping the fundamentals, but then leave that model with it's ragged bits and pick up a clean and correct version for the subsequent chapter. I say quirky only in the sense that Mr. Wing writes, not as an apologist for Autodesk, but with the awareness of the past challenges and criticisms of the Autocad community as they have tackled Revit. Kind of refreshing. Makes the book friendlier and more conversational. Review: Step by step and somehow easy to follow. - Helpful graphics and the variety of commands makes you a more rounded drafter. There are faster ways to get to the end of the chapter, but you are introduce to a variety of commands just to learn new techniques. With a Cad drafting background, I find this book very intuitive and worth every single penny invested in. I sure will recommend this book to anyone trying to learn Revit.

A bright star in Autodesk learning manuals
The manual is surprisingly good in flow but also some imprecise and confusing at instances like the Autodesk software itself. Could be written with always the goal more clearly displayed at Chapter beginnings and explained in detail every chosen parameter later. Although excellent for an Autodesk software manual. The thing which is very much missing in it is a full metric users support in the text or a metric users version of the book. All together I would recommend it for all solo Revit learners with solid English language capability. For the price you don't get any better option on the market.

First time user of Revit
The company I work for was awarded several projects at a state university that requires 3D renderings. I have never used anything besides cad and never 3D. It took me about 4 days to go through the exercises in the book. I had to refer to it several times but have finished our first project. This book is a great learning and reference tool. Highly recommend to anyone learning Revit.

Good book.
This a real step by step book. The graphics and a clear text help easily to understand. Searching for information in different pages does not alter the order of learning, is one of the better books I've ever had.

Does the job for the self taught
I am half way through this book now and I've only encountered one situation where i needed clarification. I turned to the internet for my question and I'm still not convinced it wasn't the book but my misunderstanding of the software. I will say that I am new to Revit and am self-learning. The book is worth it. I'm going to go through one time then again doing my own design. I believe if you are teaching yourself Revit, this book will do the job.

Great book
This book is great for learning Revit, especially for a beginner. Download the data from the link in the book if you need to skip chapters, but you work through and draw up an entire building.

No experience required
It tells you step by step on what to do in a sample project it has in the book. Applying the steps it teaches you is your job to a unique project.

I was afraid that for this price I'll receive something in terrible condition but I was really surprise when after opening the package I founded a book like brand new. The delivery time was even shorter than expected. Good deal for me.

I've followed the book from front cover literally to the back page. It's important to read it carefully and follow the instructions and guidance quite literally. Try not to get too confident early or repeating yourself can get a bit frustrating. Overall, really good and very informative. This is the best book I've used to learn Autodesk Revit from.

Having a background in CAD for many years, I must say this book is well written and starts with the basics and assumes no prior knowledge of Revit. Having worked through about half the book I am quite up to speed on Revit now and looking forward to completing the course.

The book is well written. Very easy to understand and to follow. It's a really cool program and efficient especially after using autocad. If you don't understand something you can go to youtube for clarification.
