Is this the kind of fabric that catches on toe nails an loose skin on youre finger tips? Does anyone know what im talking about?

I love this blanket. I've had it for two years now, and I'm getting another. It dies not catch, but I've recently had stitching come out in one area. It stays so cool which I love. Having hot feet, and hot flashes makes this my favorite.

Will this be warm enough for my three year old during michigan winters?

If you keep your house above 65, it’s fine. We live in Cleveland and my kids both use these comforters with maybe a fleece throw blanket on top. Kids throw off their covers anyway, so wear warm pajamas and socks. :) They’re light but nice and warm. I sleep with one all winter long, just this comforter.

Is this what you would place inside a duvet cover?

AFAIK, a duvet cover is for goose down or down alternative comforters.

What size (length/width) of full/queen comforter?

Traditionally a full/queen will be 88”x88”. If you like snuggling up in the covers, and especially if you have two people in bed, I’d buy a king size comforter from this Amazon basics brand. If it’s just you in bed, you can get away with the full/Queen.
