Our family loves these beans. They have less saturated fat than other brands and the taste is amazing. My husband switched to these several years ago and we can't go back. I personally also enjoy Amy's various other flavors of refried beans. This brand is on the pricier side but for us the quality is worth the price point. It's also nice to have a bulk option via Amazon.

Amy is back at it again with beans. I got this because Amazon was out of my favorite Rosarita vegetarian refried beans. I am not completely vegan but I like to eat as vegetarian as possible for my health, which is going down the crapper as I type this review. But that's for another story. Let's get back to the topic . When I first opened this can of beans I was immediately hit with the familiar scent of Frito's famous bean dip, not a bad thing but not exactly what I was expecting either. Still I slathered these beanies on tortillas and made some little part-time ratchet struggle burritos. They were okay, but the spices kind of were too much for my tastes. It's just okay, but I would rather make burritos with a different kind of bean!

These are absolutely the best refried beans I have ever tasted. I don't understand the reviews from the people on here who say they don't like the seasoning. These are seasoned the way TexMex food is SUPPOSED to be seasoned. If you don't like these seasoned beans, then you must not like TexMex food either, so then why on earth are you buying refried beans? With most refried beans, they have about as much flavor as flour and water paste. Also, I like the fact that these beans are not made with lard. In many parts of the country, it is hard to find refried beans that are not made with lard--unless you want completely no-fat beans, and I don't want that. I want the shortening; I just don't want the lard. This is also a good price for mailorder.

Wonderful refried pinto beans. The refried black beans are also wonderful. These are delicious right out of the can. There is no need to add seasonings or do any time consuming preparation. I add a little water and microwave/stir/microwave/stir and they are ready to eat in two minutes. They are great by themselves or as a side dish or dip. I like them with a good veggie burger and some steamed veggies. I consider them mildly spiced, as I prefer. Those with bolder tastes could add a little chili powder or some fresh peppers to spice things up. A spicy salsa would also go great with these beans.
