It is slightly weaker when running on batteries as show in the video. Storage compartment on the back will hold more than 15 #2 pencils. I didn't have enough to fill it up to test the capacity. Overall, I'm very pleased with the sharpener, don't hesitate to buy this.

Sharpens Crayola CRAZART color pencils GREAT! Be aware that it will "eat" your pencil quickly so don't press to hard or sharpen to long. Children may use up a pencil in a hurry. Has plenty of power using the included adapter. Didn't try batteries.

It's amazing how hard it is to find a decent pencil sharpener. I tried a couple of manual sharpeners and they were both useless. This electric model is working very well. Brings standard US sized pencils to a very sharp point but not so sharp that the tip just snaps off immediately (a problems with some others.) I also like that it uses proper shaped multi-edge sharpeners not just a spinning razor blade. I expect it to last much longer than those one or two blade units. Also, it leaves a nice smooth finish on the wood around the sharpened area. Recommended.

This little guy is fantastic! I bought it in 3020 during Covid. I needed to sharpen a lot of pencils for my COVID hobby, drawing. After all this time I’ve only changed the batteries once. It actually has a detachable power cord which I never used it because the batteries last so long. If you’re looking for a pencil sharpener, this is the one you need!

I bought the Riyo Riyo Electric Pencil Sharpener Heavy-Duty Helical Blade Sharpener because I like to draw and using the regular hand pencil sharpeners always broke the lead on the colored pencils and I would constantly have to try to get a perfect point for fine lines - not to mention the cleanup of the pencil shavings are messy. I really like the fact that this pencil sharpener makes a perfect point without breaking the lead , catches the shavings and it also automatically stops when the point is perfect. It is very convenient that this particular model can be run on batteries if you are drawing outside - and can also be plugged up to an electrical outlet when at home. I find the included cleaning brush to be very convenient. One of the best features of this pencil sharpener is that there are 3 different sharpness options sharp, medium and blunt. Great for school children that tend to break the lead on their pencils. I'm glad I made this purchase.

You have the choice of battery or electric power

I wanted to give this a zero but I'm forced to give it a 1. I have 2 main issues: 1. out of the box, it didn't come on. I paid extra to get the electric version and when I plugged it in- nothing. I thought, well, maybe the shaving case is open and it won't turn on unless that's secure. It was secure but I opened and closed it again anyway to make doubly sure. Still nothing. I changed outlets 3 times using outlets that had a working lamp, printer, and air filter machine going-still nothing. I know when it's time to stop beating a dead horse. So I packed it back up and got the return QR code so I could return it. 2. When I was making sure the pencil shaving case was secure, I noticed it's vertical so that when you open the sharpener to clear out any shavings, they're gonna fall out and make a mess, plus it's so small, I doubt you could shave more than one pencil before having to clean it. Bottom line, I went to office max and for almost the exact same amount of money I bought a sharpener that out of the box worked!. I should have done that from the beginning.
