I am looking to make pillar candles with children. Will this work and if so how many small pillar candles can be made with 10 lbs.

This wax is meant for making container candles and not pillars. This is because the wax is soft and flows when the candle is burning, if left outside a container it'll spill everywhere and make a mess. For pillars, try paraffin or palm wax, or some other pillar blend wax.

I am using 14oz glass containers and am wondering what the ratio for wax is. I have 12 of these so how much wax would I be looking to buy?

1 and 1/4 cup of wax fills one 8 oz jar. I make mine individually and that works. Use a 4 cup glass measuring container. And yes you can melt it in the microwave 2:30 min then take it out and if there are any chunks in the melt, use a wisk to mix them till it’s melted. Do not over heat the wax. Comes out of the microwave at about 150-160 degrees.

Is this wax ok to use for glass containers and essential oils?

I thought it was wonderful to use in containers & with essential oils! :-)

The picture says 1 pound. The shipping weight says 7 pounds. The item description is 10 pounds. How many pounds is this product supposed to be? Thanks

They are just showing the 1 pound sample, it is overall almost $20 per 10 lbs by the time you add shipping for the weight, give or take. I live in VA And paid about $57 for 30 lbs. They sent it fast, anc it comes in either 1 box of total flakeweight or in individual 10lb bags.. I've ordered over 100lbs of wax from them they're a very reliable wholesaler..
