Logitech V200 Cordless Mouse - Red, Snap-on 2.4GHZ Micro-Receiver

Absolutely amazing mouse. BATTERY I purchased this mouse months ago, use the mouse for work, and still have not replaced the battery. SIZE This is a mid-size mouse, not too small, not too large. I feel that its the ideal size because it fits comfortably in the hand and at the same time isn't obnoxiously large or small TECHNOLOGY Uses infrared light instead of optical. Judging from my past experiences with non-infrared mice, I think this does improve the performance of the mouse. WIRELESS ADAPTER Fits nicely on the bottom of the mouse (clips on). However, if you travel around a lot, the wireless USB adapter does tend to come off of the mouse. Normally this isn't a problem but with this mouse, when the USB adapter is removed from the bottom of the mouse, this activates the mouse. Its amazing that even with this occurring, the battery life STILL hasn't run out on my mouse. Although a minor annoyance, I don't that this little con would affect my decision to buy this mouse. CONCLUSION This is the best mouse I have ever owned. I am not a gamer and not sure how gamers would feel about it, but I have to say that compared to other mice, the response time on this is excellent, the fact that the scroll wheel scrolls up/down AND LEFT/RIGHT is very innovative, and this mouse is very affordable. The software that comes with the mouse is excellent as well, it also allows you to customize the left/right scroll functionality as well as other qualities of the mouse. Logitech hit the nail on the head with this one.

I've been using this mouse for a few weeks now, and it's worked pretty good most of the time. However, most people want a mouse that works well all the time. I frequently attach and unattach the USB stick, as I'm using a laptop. This has once caused the drivers to become corrupted and also once caused the computer to freeze on startup. I actually found that for my applications, the mouse provides more functionality WITHOUT the Logitech software that comes with the package. I could not get the "side scroll" feature to work either with or without the Logitech software. But aside from these complaints, the mouse is pretty good, fairly accurate and pretty comfortable in the hand. It's still much more appealing than using a touchpad or stick that comes with the laptop.

I bought this mouse about a year ago to use with a laptop I had recently purchased. The mouse outlasted the laptop. First off, the best thing about this mouse is its ease of use. Although it comes with additional software, all you usually have to do is plug in its USB receiver and the mouse will start working within seconds. After I switched computers, from a PC to a Mac, it still worked flawlessly and installed in a snap. The battery life of this mouse is ridiculous. It runs on 2 AAA's, and it lasted almost 8 months on its first pair of batteries. Usually, I'd just plug the mouse in when I woke up in the morning and left it on the rest of the day, but the mouse's battery life still lasted an amazing amount. In short, this was one of the better computer purchases I've made. Although it now contrasts with my white macbook's design, I still wouldn't get rid of it. I find the USB wireless to be much more reliable than bluetooth, and I think this mouse is the one of the best wireless laptop mouses on the market, especially for the price. It works so well, that my father replaced his desktop mouse with it after he get to try it out.

It is my first cordless mouse because I has been reluctant to get one due to worries about unstable connections and bad battery life of cordless mice. This one exceeded all my expectations. The connection with the computer is great. It instantly connects when you plug in the receiver into the USB port, even if you are using it for the first time with a particular PC. I works with Macs too. The battery life is great too. It powers from a pair of AA batteries, which I haven't changed since March (i.e. over 6 months), and this is my only mouse so I use it all the time. The receiver fits well on the bottom of the mouse, switching it off and saving the battery life. I carry the mouse in my backpack among other stuff and don't remember the receiver has ever separated from the mouse. As with many optical mice, this mouse doesn't like some surfaces. For example, my mouse act erroneously on a dark-grey marble-like colored desk, so I am using a mouse pad. However, it works great on fabric, sheets, uneven surfaces. Highly recommended. I am using the second one, because the first one was given as a gift to a co-worker.
