Powerbuilt Power Steering and Alternator Pulley Remove and Install Tool Set, Replace Vehicle Steering Pump, Car Repair Tools, Storage Case - 648605

My Dad's power steering pump went out in his 77 Chevy Blazer and he wanted to fix it. Upon removing the pump and buying a new one he realized that the pully needed to be removed off the old pump then installed to the new pump. He had all the tools but not the tools in this kit. While I'm not a mechanic I did find the process interesting. I also saw the value & importance of this kit. When I say you will not regret this purchase I mean it! As a 41yr old woman with a moderate amount of mechanical experience, having the items in this kit at my and my father's disposal made the task of removing the pully effortless. I doubt he or I will need this kit frequently, but it was a very good investment as it is always wise to have the right tools in your toolbox. Sure beats renting or borrowing tools from someone else and hoping it works out well! If you've never replaced a power steering pump I suggest watching a quick video or two on YouTube to get acquainted with what you're getting yourself into. Looks and sounds tricky but if you buy this kit YOU WILL be glad you did as it gets the job done right the first time. About an hour and a half later, the Blazer was on the road and working good as new.

I was super happily surprised. This kit is of much high quality than I expected. I’ve used many of these type of “one time use” type kits but this one is different. It is really nice, simple, strong, and well thought out. It works super simple and has an impressive instruction manual that is riveted and laminated into the box, wow. The overall quality exudes a long lasting confidence and is a professional feeling tool.

Definitely a good set but it is weekend mechanic quality. Getting the old pulley of is difficult and you may be tempted to put an impact wrench on it but don't do it I don't think it would stand it. That said it did the job reinstallation of the pulley was much easier definitely a must have

Had to return a previously purchased pulley remover and install tool. The main bolt bent while I was using it. This is a much better set. More robust. Solid. It covered removal / install pulleys for my Ford vacuum pump and power steering pump. I expect a long service life from this set.

Use this tool before removing from the car. You will have to mount it in a vise or something otherwise. It takes a lot of strength using large crescent wrenches and a pipe wrench. The tool is easier to use getting the pump pulley off. Putting the pulley on the part that screws into the pump shaft keeps loosening. The part that goes in the pump shaft needs to be really tightened down. This tool is made well as the other ones I’ve used. I only bought for one time use when replacing my power steering pump. FYI when I originally took the old pulley off a while ago I went to pep boys to borrow this same type of tool and it took about 4 people at the parts counter holding and turning with all their strength. It’s way better to use this tool with the pump still in the car if it’s possible. The pulleys themselves bend easily you can’t hold the pulley itself.

Ok, I own a shop. I’ve bought tools off of every different site. This I have to say was one of the best tools! Super easy! Although nothing says works on Dodge products. I bought it and it was simple one man job. Great value, pulley walked right off a 27 year old pump and right back on the rebuild. I’m certain that it can be used on many other vehicles. Very Impressed. Quality is very good pulley removal first try. Versatil!

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Tool. Zunächst hatte ich es vergebens mit einem Standard Abzieher versucht, aber mit diesem Abzieher ging es dann relativ einfach. Gute Qualität in einer praktischen Aufbewahrungsbox!!

Great product and good freight timing from the UK to Australia

I bought this as what looked like a better alternative to some other kits that may/or may not have done the job. In particular I needed to remove the power steering pump pulley from a C3 Corvette. This kit resembled closest to one I had seen being used on You Tube than others. It did the job well with the help of an impact wrench due to age which would’ve damaged an inferior steel. The parts of the kit that I used were not damaged at all so I felt the need to write a review to help others who may have doubts over the quality of the steel used.

worked perfectly, would buy again. not sure how this would be done without this kit.
