had one primitive when i was a child now its nice to see that they still make them for the new generation fun to build

Engineering robotics, my grandson so so surprised and excited about this product. ItWas for his birthday, which was yesterday! Loved it

Ideal for a 12 yearold.

This is a pretty nice set if you are looking for something to tinker with or get a young person interested in engineering and mechanics.There are two reasons I'm not giving this five stars. For one, a lot of the components were plastic. They don't seem to be overly cheap or flimsy, but I would have preferred more metal.The other reason is that this isn't getting five stars is that the container it comes in doesn't seem very well suited to store the pieces in an organized fashion. It's just a large rectangular case divided into six equal spaces. You have to put the dividers in yourself (they are included), and once they are inserted properly they seem pretty sturdy. But there are a TON of little pieces and nuts and bolts, so six large compartments isn't super helpful.I ended up buying some of those plastic ramakins with lids - you know, the little containers they put to-go ranch dressing in at a pizza place :) Those worked pretty well, and I spent about a half hour pre-sorting all of the little pieces and storing them in their separate little ramakins to make it easier to find the pieces I need when building a model.Overall, everything included seems to be pretty well-made and it does all fit together like it's supposed to. It will "work" just fine.

Our grandson requested something to build other than Legos. After research we found this Erector set to be the perfect solution. We even purchased another set for his Christmas gift.

They enjoyed building it and the end result.

The blue tooth remote controller on this kit requires an app to be installed on a phone or tablet. However, that app is no longer available from the Apple app store or Google Play. I contacted Mecanno support, they know about the issue but did not have a solution. There is actually a disclaimer inside the instruction manual stating that they have the right to pull support for the app at any time. However there is nothing on the outside of the box to this effect or even a mention that you need an app to use the product at all! The overall kit seems to be well made but it's a total shame that most of the functionally is not available because of this missing app. I will be returning the product.

Great product for old and young! Perfect to add to old sets.
