Works good for grinding and welding
Got this to use in place of my speedglas in tight or dirty areas but I really like it. It has been durable and the visibility is good it doesnโt recognize the arc flash every time right away but itโs safe and only milliseconds late. The size fits big to little Iโm a 7.5 ball cap and there is an inch of travel either way. The color and dessign are pretty cool also.

Exceptional Clarity and Optical Rating for the Price Point
As someone who has spent hours under a hood, the 1/1/1/1 Optical Clarity rating on this YESWELDER helmet is the real deal. Most entry-to-mid-level hoods have a slight distortion or "green" tint, but the True Color technology here provides a crisp, blue-ish view that makes identifying the weld puddle significantly easier. Performance & Sensors: The two arc sensors are surprisingly responsive. I tested this with low-amp TIG and it transitioned seamlessly without flickering. The wide shade range (3.5/9-13) makes it a versatile daily driver for moving between MIG, TIG, and dedicated grinding modes. The "Grind" setting is easy to toggle, which is a massive safety plus when you're switching tasks quickly. Fit & Comfort: The headgear is adjustable and balances the weight of the shield well. It doesn't feel front-heavy, which helps mitigate neck fatigue during longer sessions. Why itโs a 4-star and not a 5: While the lens quality is 5-star, the external shell material feels a bit thinner than some of the premium industrial brands. Itโs perfect for a home shop or light fabrication, but Iโd be cautious about heavy-duty daily abuse in a high-heat industrial setting. Additionally, while the True Color is great, having four sensors instead of two would provide a bit more peace of mind in awkward out-of-position welds where a sensor might get blocked. Final Verdict: For the hobbyist or the professional looking for a secondary "quick-task" hood, you cannot beat this optical quality for the money. Itโs a massive upgrade over basic auto-darkening lenses.

Vast improvement!
Yeswelder Auto Darkening Welding Helmet - I purchased this welding helmet as an upgrade to the Princess Auto (PA) one I bought over a decade ago for only a few dollars less than I spent on this one, and the difference is impressive, to say the least. The headgear, while still cheaply made thin plastic, is light years ahead of the PA version, much more comfortable and easier to adjust, plus it seems to be a single piece instead of the two-piece design of the older one--if I try to tighten the PA, the sweatband separates from the rest of the headgear and the entire helmet flops off of my head. The hinges for the mask are tighter with a ratcheting mechanism to adjust it instead of just a plastic screw, so I don't need to use my hand anymore to raise and lower the helmet while I'm working, and while I can't afford one of the Lincoln or Miller helmets the lens is practically a nightvision-and-day difference; I can't imagine an even better improvement over the old style of lens. Where the PA set has two-way switches for delay and sensitivity, the Yeswelder has potentiometers for variable adjustment. They both have variable shades from DIN 9-13, but the numbers on the Yeswelder are molded on the knob whereas the PA uses a sticker which can easily peel off the plastic. The PA is very sensitive to sunlight, and if I'm outside the lens darkens intermittently from reflections or direct sun, whereas the Yeswelder does not activate from either but will still darken while outside during a sunny day when I light my Zippo in front of it, so I feel comfortable that it will operate as intended if I'm welding outdoors. The only advantage of the PA helmet is the size; it's about an inch longer and two inches wider since it's molded like a trapezoid around your face, so the sides angle outwards away from your eyes. While that lets more ambient light in, which can cause glare issues depending on the direction of the light source, the rounder and narrower shape of the Yeswelder with the control box on the left side means that when I flip it down over my face the control box hits the left arm of my glasses and almost knocks them off my face. To get around this, I just tightened the hinges so that it doesn't flip so quickly and make final adjustments by hand before welding. It also comes with a manual (I may look at it someday) and three spare thin polycarbonate lenses: two outer and one inner. The outer one is curved in the housing for a larger field of view, but comes flat in the bag. Overall, it's a great buy and gives me a lot of confidence in the Yeswelder brand. I love it!

Well worth the price
Way better than expected. Even if you needed a few a year, still cheap.
