Speedo Women's Swimsuit Brief Powerflex Eco Dive Solid

My actual waist size is 32”, however I’ve learned over the years that garment manufacturers use “waist” to mean where the waistband actually sets, which in this case is closer to the top of the hips than the true waist; I ordered size 34 and the fit is indeed exact where the waistband sets (as accurately seen on model) while the rest of this swim brief fits the (slim) body smoothly and accurately with just enough material to securely cover and comfortably stay in place throughout a lap-swimming session. All stitching is neat and accurate as well as strong; excellent build quality with an ample and sturdy waistband-drawstring sewn-in to the double-lined front-half panel and flat-stitched as needed; no bulky panel-joints, etc. So far, after about 8 weeks of 3x/week (on average) usage (in deep blue; I also bought one in blank, which I’ve used just a few times), in fairly harshly chlorinated water, the fabric and color are unchanged; fresh-water rinsed after each use and air-dried. Some here have complained about durability and fading while swimming several days a week—as many as 6, much as I do. Well, yes, in 5-6 months of such use, it will fade and the fabric will finally loose its strength in chlorine pool water. I’m not surprised by this, seems to be normal given the circumstances.

I have not worn a Speedo brief swim suit for over 40 years. I decided to try this one exclusively for use in my pool which is in a screened pool enclosure that is surrounded by a tall hedge. So, no worry about scaring the neighbors. ;-) I bought it hoping it would be comfortable, fast drying and easy to rinse after use. Happily, I can report that it meets all those criteria. But, I wanted to submit this review hoping it may be helpful to someone else contemplating ordering one. I read all the questions and all the reviews before I ordered. (Yes, I'm OCD.) Several commented that this suit runs somewhat small. I carefully measured myself at each recommended body location (remember, I'm OCD) and came out being a "perfect" size 37. So, based on the reviews and answered questions, I decided to go the half size larger, a 38. The 38 fits and is comfortable but after wearing in daily for a week it's clear that a size 36, would fit better. So, based on my experience, if your an in-between size, I'd recommend going to the lower size. (I should point out, that other than my love handles and old geezer gut, I have a thin build.)

I've always been a speedo wearer and enjoy the fit and convenience of a brief, but my wife thinks I should try something with more coverage. I decided to try this and right away I found the leg openings to be very tight on my legs. Everything else fits as it should and provides good coverage. I'm on the fence though because it's a little strange looking. Honestly, I think a regular brief is better looking than this and if you really want more coverage, maybe a square cut would suit you better. Also, if you're thinking this suit will conceal more of your bits, it won't. My wife will have to pry my banana hammocks out of my cold dead hands.

These are excellent swimsuit for us bigger guys, I'm So happy that they made this style in different colors instead of just navy, and black, I'm planning on getting one of each color

I did order this suit 2 inches larger than my waist size, but I think I could have ordered it at my waist size and it still would have worked. Wide side panels that cover more than most speedo suits. I'm an older swimmer like to wear a streamlined suit for speed but at this point in life (at 63 years old) I am not certain that most people want to see any more of this body on display than necessary. You won't see me at the beach in this suit, but I will wear it in my swim workouts. Nice compromise, good fit, nice stretchy material for legs so it tightens on my rather thick thighs, but my junk would not be hanging out even if I had rather slender legs (and in a cold pool, that would rarely be a problem anyway). Good feeling and fitting suit, stretchy in all the right places but I have only used it a few times so I cannot speak for its longevity (but it does feel solid and well constructed).

These are for competition, not for casual swimming. Literally the most uncomforable piece of clothing I have ever put on. You have to size up because the elastic is so strong. I think it is because these are meant to fit extremely tightly so they don't move around in competition. I threw them away.
