Great book for parents who really want to help their children grow and reach their full potential
Great book for nurturing creativity and success at an early age. I have three children who are natural artists like their Father and we really want to help them reach their full potential. This workbook along with the main book is a good book to have in your collection. My oldest son has many homework struggles and there is practical advice and activities for making real change in this area and many other areas. The cartoons and graphs make the workbook more entertaining and functional. This a good tool for any parent. Books like this are important, but don't forget to make nutrition the cornerstone of everything. Children need DHA from fish oils and healthy food. I hope this review helps.

Excellent insight
This is so helpful. It forces me to really dig deep and put things into words, into an order which let's me be more mindful and gives me more resources to pull from in the stressful moments. I feel that my daughter's behavior has improved from the change in my approach and she is able to calm herself faster and easier, which relieves my stress and improves our relationship overall. I paired this Brene Brown Gifts of imperfect parenting class, but that is no longer available for purchase.

Useful for teaching parents
The book is helpful and an easy read. It doesn't have a bunch of one-page interventions/handouts like I was hoping (it is usually multiple pages but at least there are great descriptions to explain to people who haven't been TBRI trained). I am taking away a star because the packaging was NOT waterproof. It was delivered in a cardboard box without a bag seal. It was raining heavily and the cardboard was soaked. Thankfully I got home in time so there was only a little bit of water damage (wiggly pages). None of the ink was blurred and none of the pages were stuck together. Because of that, I'm going to keep the book and continue to utilize it in my therapy practice.

Helping Me Become A Better Parent
This is so great because I'm working to understand my child and also my own strategy (or lack of strategy) as a mother. I'm a single mom and I grew up with distant parents so I need all the help I can get. This book has already provided me with the opportunity to bend down at my child's level (instead of tower over her) and be more patient with my 3 yo. The writing in it takes some time but it's worth it. It's made a lasting impression on me and I'm only 20 pages in!

Authoritative and helpful
We have struggled with boy-girl twins who have gone through some rough patches. Like for example our preschool calling us in (TODAY!) for a parent teacher conference and letting us know that our kids were among the most difficult in the grade. Our kids are not easy / typical and the offhand advice of friends and family were not working for us. The school recommended this book and it has been transformative for us and for our kids. Highly recommended.

Excellent for parents or teachers
If you buy this book as a stand-alone from the original book by Siegel, it will still work. As a teacher, I'm loving the idea of communicating with children more on their level, but also helping them to see how their minds are working, and to resolve a problem more effectively. Very often, parents (and yes, teachers) are guilty of telling a child what to do and how to think. An example from the book is a child is upset with their mother for not buying them something. There are two scenarios (in cartoon format) that play out - the mother angrily replies that the child's words are not acceptable, and she is to never talk that way again. The other outcome is that the parent expresses empathy for the child's emotions, and talks about ways to work through the feelings. This is part of "Name it to tame it", one of the steps outlined in the book. Siegel does a good job of explaining how a child's brain develops, and how we are more likely to reach them if we keep this in mind.

Bom
Não é o que eu esperava, é um caderno para ajudar a mãe fazer uma auto avaliação. Eu imaginava outra coisa, imaginava atividades para conduzir a criança á pensar e refletir de maneira positiva. As atividades para a mãe me pareceram cansativas.
