Homydom Heavy Duty Wall Mounted Lumber Storage Rack, 3-Level, 4 Pack Metal Garage Shelving System for Wood, Pipes & Skis, 300 Lbs Capacity Organizer Bracket (Black/Orange)

I bought a two-pack of these to outfit my shop with lumber storage. They were quick and easy to install, and as long as you follow the instructions and screw them into studs, they will be very sturdy. A couple of things attracted me to these: * They are totally modular, and allow for any configuration you like. * The welds on the shelves appear to be very strong, so they should hold their rated load. * The shelves can hinge upwards if needed temporarily. A bonus not really mentioned in the listing: each shelf has a hole drilled at the end so you can add a bolt/nut (e.g. 1/2" x 3") to ensure boards don't slide off the ends. Some other shelves show this, but these didn't, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that. I configured mine in two levels, with the bottom level spaced 16" apart for shorter boards, and the top level spaced 32" apart for longer boards. At least for now, I have ample storage, and even have extra shelves should I need more. On that subject, my only (minor) complaint is that I wish I could buy extra parts, e.g. another pair of uprights with no shelves, without having to buy a complete set just for minor expansion. Nonetheless, I'll probably buy another set.

Easy to install, some flexibility on how you set up the set, and a great value

First off, I was pleasantly surprised that you get TWO pairs of racks, not just one. When it said "2 pack," I thought it just meant a pair of them. Installing them was pretty simple, it's just two screws per vertical piece, and then you add the horizontal arms with a steel pin and secure it with a a cotter pin. Everything is thick metal, and it doesn't look cheap or flimsy. But the proof is in the performance, and it is performing beautifully. I immediately put 150 board-feet of white oak and pine, which weighs approximately 600 lbs, and it held up perfectly (see picture). These will probably handle as much wood as you can stack in them. Overall, it's a great product. I can't find any fault with it. 10/10, I'll definitely be getting another when I get a bigger space.

(-) The first two lag bolts I tried snapped off (broke). Both bolts broke at the same spot -- where the threads start. I pre-drilled the holes, so that wasn't the problem. I switched to using my own lag bolts and there were no more issues. The hardware provide with the racks is poor quality. (+) The design is generally good; easy to install and adjust. The quality of the racks is pretty good. I'll be curious to see how the finish holds up over time. They feel strong enough for most uses. Good for trim and smaller dimensional lumber. (-) I'm puzzled by one design feature. The top and bottom rack each have two holes -- for adjusting height. The top rack only fits on the highest setting because the mounting bolt prevents use of the lower holes. The bottom rack only fits on the higher setting. If you try to use the lower setting, the rack arm drops below the mounting bracket. Very strange that they would provide the additional adjustments when two can't be used. The only explanation I can think of is that they wanted a symmetrical bracket, where there's no top or bottom.

I purchased a double pack (glad I did) and found them to be very easy to install and sturdy. The racks freed up some valuable floor space. There were ZERO defects and, except for the drywall-type mounting screws included (sorry, but these thin screws don't inspire much confidence in their durability), I found the components to be good quality. The racks are holding up cherry wood planks that are very heavy 9-10 foot long and 10 inches wide by 1 inch plus thick, so the whole system is holding up well. The only regret I have is that I waited so long to purchase and then mount them.

I bought this product with a different use in mind. I was looking to get all the kids’ hoverboards and charging cables off of the garage floor as it was a hazard! I saw these lumber racks and thought I would give it a try. They are very sturdy, which is something I needed for the weight of the hoverboards. They were super easy to install, just make sure to drill into the studs for max support. I found I can fit 2 hoverboards per shelf as the depth allowed this. Easily could hold more weight than these, but this is plenty for what I needed. I am super happy with the result, and now have a clean floor and the kids do a great job plugging everything back in when complete so their toys are actually ready to be used next time they go outside.

These racks are really nice and easy to install. I hung these in my Dads shop to get some lumber off the floor and help him organize things a bit. I made sure they were centered on studs and they were quick and easy to install. I tried to maintain the weight limit as closely as I could, but I ended up having a set overloaded some but the shelf rail didn’t sag at all. I will be buying more for my own use. All holes lined up perfectly for the pins that hold the shelf rails. No problems whatsoever!

The welds inconsistent. Why would you want to mount your lumber on a rack that will actually cause it to twist and warp while been stored. Don’t waste your time on this product like I did. It was missing pins and the screws it came with I wouldn’t use it to mount a picture frame. Poor quality all round.
