Golden Fox Enzo Men's Chukka Boot Casual

I am mystified by the few unflattering reviews. I love these boots. If there's another chukka out there that has full Goodyear welt, pigskin inside, full grain leather outside, and that costs barely $100, I am not aware of it. I received mine a couple of weeks ago, and I put about 15 miles on them. They felt great. Good grip, comfortable uphill and downhill, very soft on the foot, and they look nice. I can't think of anything bad to say about this boot. One thing to know: They run wide. I have a narrow foot, and usually wear size 11-11.5, (width B, if available) shoes. I got these in size 12, and put in aftermarket insoles. Done! They could still be a but narrower for me, but it's completely within reason as it is, and I have enough space to wear them with wool socks in winter.

These boots are awesome. They fit perfectly and are easy to slip on and off. They are easy to style and work well with both casual and formal outfits - I go to law school and have to go to many formal events and they work for that or just walking around town grabbing a coffee. I owned pair of Golden Fox chukka boots for the last two years. I have been impressed by them - beautiful finish, water-tight construction, break in (over time) to a comfortable and conforming fit. The sole is wearing smooth on my pair (which happened a bit too quickly for my taste) and the cost of resoling - at least in my city - is almost as high as a new pair. So I ordered this Enzo chukka boot, in the size I have been wearing. The shoes arrived but were too large. Upon communication with the sellers, I was informed that they have broadened their lasts - and that seems to have made them too wide for me. Because returns are are at the buyer's expense (even if brought to a UPS site), I can't affordably try multiple pairs to find a narrower pair in my size. So I must sadly leave them behind. (I will look for less pricey resoling.) Golden Fox offered to provide a pair one size smaller to me, but it is the width that is a problem for me; I need the full length of my chosen size. (As to the width, for comparison I find Reebok medium width shoes are about right for my feet.)

These chukka shoes are great. I was looking for a pair that was sturdy enough to walk a construction site but sophisticated enough to dress up for a board room. They are versatile and pair well with a variety of looks. These chukkas are sturdy, made of heavier leather that has stood up to abuse, scuffs and dings and still look new. They have good soles that have worn well and are stable. The insoles aren't fantastic but are of for all-day comfort. Expect a couple of days to break them in. They are a good crossover between a dress shoe and a boot-expect them to wear closer to a boot than dress shoe. They have been my daily drivers for close to a month and still looking new. They were as-advertised, arrived on time and in expected condition.

I was looking for a chukka boot that I could wear at work and on weekends....I found them.These boots are much better looking out of the box. The wine color is beautiful, not as dark as it appears. At first I found the with on the narrow side but after 2 or three wears I could feel the shoes conform to my feet. After a month these shoes as 100% comfortable. The leather is so soft as is the inner sole. I have decided to buy a second pair because I love them so much. I work on my feet all day and the soles do work to take the load off of my knees and feet .

I bought these to replace an old pair of chukka boots I had to wear to work since my office recently instated jeans everyday. For sizing, I bought two sizes that are generally around what I wear and returned the one that didn't fit, this in my opinion is the best way to go with Amazon because their return policy is so simple and easy to complete. Right out of the box the boots are great looking, the leather is thick and stiff, which is a good sign with any leather boot, means its ready to form to your foot with every wear, and the sole is the same quality as my Thorogood moc toe's. I treated them with Huberds Shoe Grease right away to protect the leather and let it soak in for a about a week before my first wear. The boots have an insole which I was very skeptical at first, because it looks like the boots weren't made properly or made poorly. But after a few wears they have stayed in place and I've had no problem with them falling out when taking the boots on and off. The insole also has a noticeable arch support that some may find annoying or uncomfortable, I myself like it and find it quite comfortable. All in all this is a great boot for casual wear, the leather is quality and the fit is very comfortable and for the price you can't beat it.

I have a rule about shoes that I should never spend less than $125 if I expect quality. The review on these are pretty glowing so I thought I'd break that rule. In hindsight, I'm regretting it and wish I'd spent the extra money. I suggest you do too unless you only need these for indoors, casual wear and are OK with them lasting a few years at best. Pros ) 1) Nice looking (if boring) 2) Soft flat finish goes well with most outfits 3) Very comfortable out of the box Cons ) 1) Not a work shoe by any means. Scuffs and scratches very easily, shoes are damaged with-in 5 wears and have visible knicks out of the toe box leather. 2) Style is a bit plain or pedestrian. I have Red Wing Chukkas that look substantially better ( and they're a year old ) than these did new. 3) Quality if above average but only slightly in terms of fit. Durability seems to be lacking significantly 4) Soles - Slippery and have worn down substantially in about 10 wearings. I'm not walking over 4-5K steps a day, and the soles on these look roughly 3 or 4 times worse than Red Wings I climbed a mountain in, and have walked well over 25 miles in. I expect the soles to be flat withing a year and very slippery 5) Laces - seem weak and I feel like I'm going to tear them If I tug too hard
