Product description completely unclear
This is a solid unit and takes practice to learn to use it. However, I did return the PM51520 for the PM5360PC because the descriptions on Amazon weren't clear which model was which. Unfortunately, the Suunto website was even less help. It was only when I had the unit and user manual in hand and could compare models on forestry suppliers that I knew which model I needed. The PM51520 is for use at a fixed distance from an object of which you're measuring the height. This is often not possible in arboriculture surveys. So I returned it for the PM5360PC, which measures height using angles and can be used from any variable, yet known, distance. For such a solidly made, technical object, the descriptions and user assistance are disappointingly poor. Fortunately, there are many user assistance videos to be found.
