BEST option, GREAT price
There is a bit of a learning curve, as with all software. But DMXIS is a full universe of DMX control, and it's quite intuitive. Especially if you've programmed DMX lights with analog light boards in the past. It has many advantages over most small analog DMX boards, without spending a fortune. Besides having backup ability for your light shows, enjoy having labels for each fixture and each channel's function while programming, or while operating them during live performances. You can allocate as many DMX channels as your fixtures need, instead of the number your analog board allows. You can build as many "labeled" banks, preset/scenes, or chases as you'll likely ever require. When you can apply channel masks, fixture macros, sound activating light triggers, or assignable special effect oscillators wherever you desire to individual DMX channels, then DMXIS's capabilities are hard to deny. Unless of course, you have thousands of dollars to invest in the lighting consoles that normally have these features. Best budget DMX light controller option available, in my opinion. If you're a DJ who wants to control DMX lights for set music tracks, or a live band use click or backing tracks, consider DMXIS companion software ShowBuddy Setlist to totally automate your light shows.

Great for churches
I bought this through my church about 4 or 5 years ago to replace our old Chauvet Obey 40. We used the board for 10 PAR 38 cans and 2 PAR 64 cans hooked up to dimmer packs. We later added 4 Venue PAR 64 LED lights and four ADJ wash panels, and programming the Obey was a huge pain in the butt. When we got this, it was a world of difference. Set up was easy, simply install the software and plug it in via USB. You can set multiple different light types that automatically label the channels, for up to 512 channels. Programming is super easy: just set the lights, set the fade duration, and save it to the bank. Operation is easy as well: you can set different "shows" for different types of events, and each show has a list of "scenes" you've created and stored. You can change the order of scenes and have them auto rotate if you wish. Overall, we're very pleased with the product, and it would be a great addition to any DJ, church, or club's arsenal.

Worth every cent!
The DMXis box connects your DMX enabled lighting to a computer and the free program with it turns your computer into a light board. I saw the full potential of this program when I was working at a summer camp and we had spot lights, parcans, a moving light, and a light bar. All of these were DMX and we’re connected to a lighting system that no one new how to operate. I just plugged the DMX cable into DMXis and then the DMXis to my computer via USB and I could control each element of each light individually. You can program shows and scenes so you can keep different venues separate or you can separate your lighting control based on what is happening in the room or on stage. This product makes DMX lighting accessible. I haven’t even touched on how you can use this as a plug in or automate this thing so it will change by itself as your playing. It’s a powerful tool and it is absolutely worth the money.

Great setup for the price, works great
I'm extremely happy with my purchase on this one --- especially for the price. We're driving lights for a band, and it's REALLY easy to operate. The setup and programming take a little time, and it would be nice if there was a little more online for youtube tutorials. If you are able to figure a few things out on your own, and can take tutorials, you can program some quite good looking patterns and movements. Couple limitations ---- it's not the most intuitive GUi interface, so it takes some poking around. Also, the way you have to make new banks is a little "manual" --- there doesn't seem to be a quick way to copy/paste specific settings/positions/colors from one scene to another. I also wish it was a bit easier to label individual control/sliders with custom names. However, it does do what it promises, and for the price it's an outstanding product. I really do recommend this for small venues, churches, bar bands and smaller theatrical productions.

Recommended!
This is a great little product. I had no issues getting it up and running on my computer system and integrated with my lights. The ability to go into their web interface and create fixtures that you can import into the system worked really well and is pretty easy to accomplish. I found the footswitch feature and the ability to trigger off of midi events very helpful as well. I was even able to get my Line 6 FBV Express MKII pedal hooked up through the computer and have it control various features of the tool. I recommend this product!

Filled the need for out small community theater
I am involved with a small community theater. I had purchased three conventional low-end light boards because I was afraid to take the dive into a computer based lighting set-up. I wish I had tried this first. It is clearly designed for bands. That said, I just ignore a bunch of it's band related performance features. What's left is a simple to set up, simple to program, simple to run lighting program. You create a lighting set-up, save it, and click to replay it. You can fade in, fade out, and cross-fade. I had struggled with the conventional consoles. Now I don't. Excellent value and product for a low-end lighting set-up.

I've wasted hundreds of dollars on dmx controllers that were like playing with toys compared to the enttec. I've got it set up as a software instrument - it would be nice if there was more training videos
