Is this kit okay for a ten year old who has dexterity issues? I would be there to help. Thanks

Absolutely. My five year old has dexterity issues, he's in OT, and this is great practice! It's not just okay, it's helpful. Just let him stop when he gets frustrated...take a week instead of an hour to make a potholder. I bought this after our plastic one broke, it's sturdier and the colors are more attractive. Oh, and you might need to do the final step for him, but that's quick.

does it come with a crochet hook?

Yes, it comes with a crochet hook, as well as a metal loop hook that spans the whole loom.

Do you have just the weaving hooks available for purchase?

Please call the company, Harrisville Designs at 800-338-9415 and they will be glad to send a replacement hook. Google their website for cool info about the company. They've been in business in a tiny town in New Hampshire since 1794. family owned, really neat business. Everything is made in the USA.

What is the loom made of, plastic or metal?

heavy guage metal....seems really well made. My daughter has had hers for 6 years and it is like new!
