Safer than cycling on the streets…
So I’ve been cycling since I was in middle school. Been spinning the cranks for over 40 years. Had a couple friends in the last 6 years killed by texters or drunk drivers. I desperately needed to find a way to stay in shape, do something I enjoy, and not get hit by a motorist. I researched all the big companies and tried several in person. The most important aspect to me that made the Nordictrack stand miles ahead of their competitors was the auto-adjustment, caliber of the trainers, and the feeling like I’m actually on the street riding and tackling the terrain. I hate spin classes and I didn’t want a spin bike. Im all about the journey from point A to point B and if I happen to get some good exercise as well, then great. I didn’t want something that was going to be boring or just about cardio or spinning the cranks. I wanted something that would keep me coming back again and again. Well the S22i is exactly what I wanted/needed. It is fun, works flawlessly with adjusting the resistance and incline, and has a huge library of different rides. I can choose to ride some of the Tour De France roads, travel through the streets of Vietnam or Japan, or tackle the mountain trails of Utah. All from the convenience of my house. The unit is extremely quiet and has all sorts of ways to adjust your ride to make it perfect. My wife works from home so the ability to pair it with a Bluetooth device was incredibly important. I put my own cranks on it from my Trek as well as my saddle and it feels just like my road bike. The integrated fan also really helps when breaking a good sweat and feels like a good downhill breeze in the face. My wife, who’s NOT a cyclist loves the fact that she can still use some of the trainers and do Yoga or a huge variety of other workouts that don’t require the bike. She simply turns the screen to the side so she can see all the action. She gets all the motivation and activity she needs. I’m so glad I bought this from Amazon. It was super easy to assemble, the price was perfect, and it is better than the bikes my friends have from Peloton or Bowflex. They are actually jealous of my bike. If you are looking for a good and safe replacement for city riding, then look no further cause the S22i is for you.

Good home fitness equipment.
This was the best investment. I had an old spinning bike I got for 200.00 about 8 years ago and was ready to step it up. I cycled regularly but a I am getting older and the weather is unpredictable, I wanted something to do at home. I got a free 30 days membership to IFIT and was using it. I really like the variety of workouts and that I could access the app on my smart TV. I like riding different locations, speeds and workouts. I research thoroughly spinning bikes and services. Looked at the tops 4-5 and narrowed it down to the Norditrack and Pelaton. I viewed the video on assembly and figured I could do this without paying the extra assembly cost. Item came within 2 days and left inside my home. The parts were big and the body is very heavy but between my husband and I we got it upstairs and assembled upstairs. The assembly is easy but takes time and some muscle and you will need two people to install the screen on the body. Connections are simple. I had a free one month subscription to IFIT and it came with one year free subscription even though it only said one month so that was a nice extra. Screen is big and user friendly. Plugged in and accessed my IFIT membership and ready to go. Very quite and similar to being on a road bike. All synced very nicely and programmed to my needs. The fan is very nice, comes with 2 hand weights and phone holder. Very happy so far with my purchase and selection.

It was great, until it wasnt - completely dead, fees to repair - **06.07.24 UPDATE - BAD TO WORSE**
***UPDATE *** 3 Tech visits and 5 months later (2 years 6 months since purchase) and still haven't gotten the device repaired, and I now have a collection of extra monitors (pictured) none of which work on my bike. A class action lawsuit filed against iFit (NordicTrack) for defective parts (Balfour et al. v. iFIT Health and Fitness, Inc.) no surprise that that my bike didn't qualify. These bikes must be riddled with issues. I spoke with Customer Service 06.07.24 and was told my only option was to purchase a controller board for another $160 with no guarantee that it would work, and a mandatory 10% restocking fee if it doesn't. This company builds in charges with no promise that any of the suggestions from their technicians or employees will solve the problem. This will be immediately sold once fixed and I'll be switching to peloton. Bike was great until it died. I purchased the bike 2 years and 1 month ago, used it daily for about a year then had some health issues and the bike sat mostly unused for about a year in my gym. Went to go use it a few weeks ago and it wont turn on. Not sure exactly when it died, but nonetheless a $2,000 bike should last longer than 2 years. Now I get nothing on the monitor, the device does not power up. Customer service sent out a new console, which did nothing to alleviate the issue, and are now charging me $170 to come have it looked at by a technician, or I have a giant two-thousand-dollar paperweight taking up space in my gym. - I understand its outside of warranty, but at this price point I expected better service. Should have gone with peloton. smh

Subscription locked, but quickly caught up with Peloton
Update 7 Aug 2024: NordicTrack recently released a beta version of the iFIT software powering their studio machines. It’s a phenomenal improvement and my S22i is performing better than it ever had out of the box before. Additionally, after long-term regular use, I’ve now not had the bottom bracket snapping noises in a few months. I believe this is because the lubricant I’ve applied has made its way around the pivot sufficiently. After the iFIT update, saddle upgrade, and stable maintenance, I’m now fully satisfied with the machine. 100% recommend. — Original Review — I've had the S22i for almost a year now. While I'm still satisfied with it, and probably happier than I would've been with a similarly-priced Peloton, I have some mostly-minor complaints. The good: - Engaging, scenic, trainer-led rides, with destinations around the world. If you really like a destination ride but outgrow its challenge, you can scale the resistance up as needed to keep it beneficial. - Operation is mostly quiet. Even changing incline is pretty quiet considering the motor involved. - Bike fit is pretty adjustable, so most adults can use it. Adjustments can be done easily, so your partner can use it too. - This model year had a screen-wide fan below the display. It's absolutely fantastic. - The 22" display size is right in the sweet spot for most rooms. It's immersive and won't demand much more horizontal space than the bike itself. The bad: - Most features are subscription-locked. The subscriptions are murky at best - individual subscriptions often aren't available on iFit's site, so I've got mine through Amazon. - The bike requires much more maintenance than usual. The bottom bracket on my bike doesn't seem to have been lubed well, so every week or so I need to spray it with silicone spray or it will start clacking during incline changes. - It's heavy. I was (barely) able to lift it up a flight of stairs in my house alone, but many people won't be able to. - Stock saddle sucks bad. Any $20 saddle you find on Amazon which roughly fits your sitbone will be far superior. - Responsiveness of the Android system is bad. Menus frequently freeze for seconds at a time, entering a ride takes a while, and videos are often getting stuck for a couple seconds. These aren't connectivity issues, just a woefully underpowered tablet. This is very common with "smart" equipment, sadly. - The packaging is horrific. While breaking down the box, I had to dispose of four 39-gallon bags of styrofoam. Be better, NordicTrack... I'll also note, but I'm not putting it under the "bad" section since NordicTrack made it right, that the bike was missing parts when it arrived. There were two voids in the styrofoam blocks that should've been filled with pedals. A fairly quick couple of emails with customer service eventually got pedals shipped to me. In the meantime, since they're standard pedals, I just stole some from a bike in my garage. I would suggest the S22i while it's on sale. Especially while you can get individual plans, it's a far better ongoing deal than a Peloton. Compared to the Peloton, the S22i offers incline and focuses on scenic, hilly rides more than on studio rides. However, the S22i doesn't have the competitive engagement of a Peloton. If you're not interested in the competitive/social nature of the Peloton, the S22i is a better deal.

Decent bike. Frustrating company.
We bought this model because we own a nordictrac treadmill which is brilliant. From how the treadmill works we knew we’d like the bike adjust incline and resistance on its own during the exercise, and that sold us on this brand and model over similar brands with out these features, and other brand such require membership to use it.. As well as knowing like with our treadmill we can use it on manual mode which some of Nordic track competitors cannot do. Bike is good and we’d buy it again. Feels stable as we are using it and the noise level is good, audio from the music and ifit coach are louder than the machine working. Set up was easy enough but this is a heavy bike. You can move it, however where you set the room where it is going to stay. The controls on the Handel bars are easy to use, the fan controls are easy to reach. The large display is ideal and easy to navigate to get where you want. We bought the larger seat online, it’s more comfortable then the original seat but it is something we are getting used to as not being bike riders. We got this bike for low impact workouts for our knees and this is definitely been a great benefit to us. The bad. We have one of the pedals which clicks during use. A bearing or something is bad. We are just going to buy a new pedal set when we find one. The support system for nordictrac is so backwards. We literally couldn’t register the device, they didn’t include the warranty card for registration. You take a picture of the photo icon that came on adhered to the display, they text you back taking you to a link with a blank forum to fill in the data. What is the point of taking a photo of that image if none of the pertinent data to register machine is there? I do not know the model number and I’m not going to crawl around the machine to locate the serial, although it is a smart device so maybe it’s loaded somewhere in the menu, if it is there’s no instructions on how to access it. Our treadmill bought a few years back was easy to register and we bought the extended warranty through nordictrac. We will not get the opportunity to do so with this bike, the company put to many obstacles in the way of registering this. No doubt someone getting is a raise at a local board meeting for cutting down the warranty costs. Maybe they should think about all the warranty money they lost. We would’ve paid them for the piece of mind, and I doubt we would have needed it, as our treadmill never had any issues. Moving on to IFit, we never had the membership for the treadmill but we’re going to buy it for the bike because we could use it on both. Honestly the fitness trainers and programs are good and thought out. The trouble is our machine, the newest 2022 model came with 12 month membership in ifit. As of December 25th ifit refuses to recognize this promotion. It was on the box the bike came in and part of the paperwork included with the bike. We contacted them twice for support only to be contacted once then ignored. This is something they should make right. Like the warranty we would have paid in advance for years of membership to ifit for the piece of mind knowing we could keep it as part of our exercise routine. Again there probably some board member congratulating themselves for making the company money by refusing to honor the 12 month membership their exercise machines came with. We feel this is bait and switch so will continue to use the bike on manual. Honestly this bike is a really good product , a upgrade from the profit mode. But the let down is the company decided to cut cost in consumer relations. We would buy this bike again.

Very Reliable Studio Cycle
I purchased a Nordic Track S22i Studio Cycle using Amazon.com and received the product on March 5, 2021 and assembled it without any trouble. One word of caution is to carefully follow the assembly instructions as I believe some of the problems encountered by others was improper assembly. It is very easy to cross thread the bolts which then can't be totally tightened. We (two of us) started using the Cycle on March 7 and have been spinning just about every other day until today, August 30, 2021. No hardware problems have been encountered to date except for an decline error of 2 degrees on startup which is no big thing. Software have been updated as required without problems with the exception of a few training session restarts which were successfully competed. The cycle is complemented by a exceptional iFit broad spectrum training program across all Nordic Pro products. It is top notch and offers any array of training from individual live and group sessions to self created sessions. iFit has some great motivational trainers with sessions all over the globe. We are very pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend it to others. I did in-depth research into other products like Peloton and and Nordic Track/iFit has it hands down.

Amazing piece of home fitness equipment
I love this bike. It’s quite heavy so it was a challenge to put together with just one person, but it’s doable. Because of it’s weight, it’s not a bike you would really want to move frequently (or at all) after it’s assembled, but I think that speaks to how well it’s made. I have carpeted floor, so to help keep the bike stable and protect my carpet, I bought a floor mat and piece of plywood cut to the dimensions of the mat and set the bike up on that. It’s perfect. Unfortunately some of the holes in one of the bars weren’t properly threaded so I wasn’t able to get all the screws in. NordicTrack customer service was very helpful and sent me all the replacement parts I needed right away though. I also love the iFit platform. They’re constantly coming out with new workouts, challenges and overall improvements, and the community is motivational and super fun as well. Amazon’s delivery was awesome, right on time. I paid the extra $20 to have the delivery men bring it to the room of my choice and it was worth every penny. This is personal preference, but I also purchased and installed clip in pedals and a different seat. Very happy with this investment!!

how to butcher an s22i
I received my new Nordic Track S22i exercise bike about three weeks ago. When I assembled it and plugged it in the only thing the screen would do is flash solid colors from black to white, green, red, blue, then start the sequence over again. No problem. I call customer service, go through the video portion of the call to the service person can send pics and video to a technician and attempt to come up with an answer. The technician said it was a wiring issue and not the console because they knew power was getting to the console or it wouldn’t be flashing colors. I thought that was BS but hey, I’m not a technician. They said the new harness should be here in 7 to 10 days. I figured “how hard could it be to replace? They wouldn’t send me one if it was a major deal.” WRONG. I received 4 separate harnesses with no direction. After I figured out which one went where I realized I would have to take the entire bike down to replace them. I mean cut zip ties, remove glue stops, TAKE THE CONTROL PADS OUT OF THE HANDLE BARS, everything. So, I go at the project. 8 hours later I have the bike striped down all factory stays cut off, the wires run back through the frame and handle bar tubes. Plug it in, and it does the exact same thing it was doing 8 hours before my foray. I call customer service back. Now they say if it wasn’t the wiring harness it must be the console. “No kidding” I thought. Now they are going to send me a new console that should take 10 to 14 business days to get here. I mentioned that I was pretty unhappy that I now had a very expensive, brand-new bike that had been butchered by me at the bequest of the company. Of course, the remorse was overwhelming but that and 20 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. Then she said, “when the console gets there call us and we will schedule a technician to come out, mount it and do a diagnostic on the bike.” I said “What? Did you say a technician will come here, take out 4 screws, and unplug 2 wires then do a DIAGNOSTIC on the bike?” If they had a local technician in the first place, that could simply run a diagnostic to know exactly what was wrong the why in the hell did have to do major surgery in the first place? That’s when it hit me; I bet I just voided the warranty. I don’t know the answers to any of this yet, but I should in 10 to 14 business days. One thing I do know it that I will be dead and in hell riding around lava pits before I EVER buy another Nordic track again. Update, 9/28/2023. I am still at the mercy of ifit customer service. New wiring harness, same problem, new monitor, I guess it's someplace between here and Mali being delivered by 2 kids and a goat cart because it's not here. I called hell today to try and head off an issue. The incline and resistance buttons have never worked. so I figured I'd get the interstellar moon shuttle that's going to have to deliver those parts up and running to save time. Oh no friends and neighbors. Im told that the parts that didn't work out of the box, and still don't work with a new wiring harness might have a wiring issue. I swear to you, if there was any possible way I could have gone all ethereal, slid through the phone lines and strangled the guy on the other end I would have. They can't order those buttons until the technician comes out, pronounces them clearly and sincerely dead, then HE will order them. I see this $1700 lump of worthless aggravation sitting at the end of the my driveway with a "free" sign on it in the very near future. Of course then a car will probably hit it and I'll be sued. Oh, also, I can't return it to Amazon because it has to be taken apart and repackaged in the original box. I recycled that box 2 weeks after the bike got here and 2 weeks before I realized I was dealing with petulant children that apparently think customer service is the same as when bulls service cows. That they've been doing in spades.

Great bit of kit
Picked up on warehouse deals - acceptable rating. Missing a bit of hardware (screws) and weights (not relevant for me) and one bit of plastic trim broken (not an issue) but otherwise mint. Purchased for less than a 3rd of the price or just a 3rd of the price after taxes. A steal. Bearing that in mind, do I think this is worth a 3rd of the price or the full price. Yes in both cases. I have a sister company spin bike I picked up which has similar elevation functionality for a similar price and will retain both. The ifit is worthwhile, fully immersive and a lot of fun to distract you from thinking you are home. I'm not a studio cycle guy but prefer the outside rides. The picture quality is amazing and the fully interactive aspects of the rides are a lot of fun. Overall, a great warehouse deal and a great bike even at full price.

Good Product but definitely not the new model s22i
Have had this for about a week now , it was fairly easy to assemble, skip the manual and download the 3G assembly instructions, those were very helpful. Overall the machine is good and performs as i was expecting. Do not pay full price for this as it is the older model without the clip pedals and improved audio. A couple things that annoy me . 1. the video glitches , even though i have gigabit internet and connect on 5G. 2. the fan is extremely loud 3. there is no screen saver sleep - watch out for burn in if you don't unplug it. 4. its slow booting if you do unplug it. The good. 1. Great exercises. 2. The resistance levels are a bit of a misnomer. When the incline changes , the resistance increases behind the scenes as it should but without changing the resistance level that it is set at so although it says 24 levels, the combinations of incline and resistance makes it seem more. 3. Everything is laid out within reach, quite well designed. 4. integration with apple health a nice bonus. 5. workouts are challanging. 6. pretty stable ( I am over 250lbs) and it handles offseat riding well. 7. easy to change from riding to floor workouts ( some trainers alternate between the 2). So in summary , its a well built exercise bike. I was a bit dissappointed that it was an older model than the current one but not so much so that I would return it .
