What thread size is the end?

The end is my ok for push no good for pull

this is wired to a 12 volt 4 amp 40 watt transformer but is triggering multiple times (50 per minute). What are we doing wrong?

It needs an 8 or 10 amp power supply, the inrush current is initially very high when it first turns on. If you have it on a lower current supply, the supply will be overloaded and shut down to protect itself, then turn on again, then shut down and repeat until you turn it off.

Is it possible to have this rested in the extended position? I would like power on to retract. Thank you

If you turn the solenoid round the spring extended end remains out but with little holding power. When powered the solenoid extends with a good holding force but gets hot very quickly. The maximum cycle time recommended is 2 seconds.
