This turns the Izula into a very different knife, very comfortable and still small enough for neck carry. Micarta's texture feels really good in the hand, and creates a great grip for any task.

This is a very nice scale. As one reviewer mentioned (I bought two, and luckily didn't throw it away) they supply you with a black spacer to help you align the scales, in the skeleton style handle of the Izula. This does deserve 5 stars, I bumped it down one because this one (the grey micarta) is very small. I think they should have added a picture of it installed in the product gallery. If I was smarter I would have thought to look at the customer reviews for references. I have large hands and this makes makes it feel awkward for me. I will return this one but keep the orange G10 scales, which feel perfect for me.

Some vendors sell their own line of handle scales for close to $40 or more. For what you get, these are well priced. I specifically looked for the design that left the steel ring uncovered. My index and middle fingers grip this scale with my third finger across the ring...a typical three finger grip. It may not seem like much but it’s light years beyond just having the skeleton handle...and it’s all you need. This is a small knife, intended for small and medium tasks. The scales fit the handle perfectly and are very simple to screw into place. Don’t trust that “all the hardware needed for installation is included”. It’s not. There are the two Micarta scales and the four screw pieces. That’s it. Good thing I had the right size hex key. These are an extremely good addition and leave the big ring open for lanyard, carabiner or whatever. Just exactly what I needed. Very highly recommended.
