Dive Rite FT1/XT2 Advanced Open Water Regulator Package - Din

I did not buy this on amazon; just leaving a review so it may be helpful to others. I also got the DIN regulator with yolk adapter. List the pros and cons so you can make your decision: Pros: 1. full setup that comes with necklace for backup and a drybag. no brainer purchase. 2. The mouthpiece is small and does not hurt my gums (most of the rental gear stuff do). Also like the weight balance and 90 degree angle on primary. 3. makes you compact 4. This is from a reputed company and build is sturdy. 5. like the braided hoses. Sturdy and less prone to entanglement. 6. this one has venturi valve and resistance valve adjustment. At this price point Its a steal! Cons: 1. Get the yolk adapter (most countries use this for rec diving). with DIN you need to buy a yolk adapter that makes it heavy. 2. Still confuses most dive instructors (primary donate setup is not taught yet in PADI?). They insist on you breathing through the secondary because primary has some yellow?!? 3. The backup regulator hose could have been a few inches longer (yes you can swap out the hose, but a few inches longer would have been nice) 4. No setup videos from manufacturer. The Primary swivels horizontally and vertically so there are a couple of different angles you can attach it to the cylinder. still have not figured out the best setup. 5. The backup holder necklace could be a bit longer. 6. The resistance valve has markings (dots) for open or closed (you can also figure this out via breathing) but there are NO markings on venturi valve adjuster. Cant say which is open or closed?? DiveRite put some markings please!!

The 2nd stage is nice and light in mouth, super comfortable The hose of the primary 2nd stage is a bit too short. I would have loved a bit more length.
