Way too many false alarms
I installed it follow the directions and still kept having way too many false alarms. Had an in for less than 24 hours and had probably that many false alarms. We had no wind the first 12 hours then the next day we had wind about 10 miles an hour, which created a small roof on top of the water. This caused false alarms.

A good second pair of eyes
Overall, PoolEye Immersion is a good option if you want an added layer of pool safety, especially for families, pets, or when you’re not always watching the pool. It’s not perfect, but for many people it strikes a good balance between safety, ease of use, and cost.

Waste of Money!!
Don’t waste your money! Installed product beginning of October 2025 with SIX 9-volt batteries. Batteries were completely dead by early January 2026. Pool alarm also filled with water due to the amount of rain we received and has malfunctioned, causing the alarm to barely be heard.

Quick fix for inspection
The quickest fix to pass inspection. You need a rotary hammer drill to install and you will have holes in pool decking. Takes tons of batteries so don’t go for the cheap ones so they last longer. Pay attention to where you install, keep away from jets or anything that cleans the pool. Depending on pool size might need more than one. 75ft perimeter needs 2. Has delay within city code and decibel requirements for city of Glendale. Monsoon season turn it off!

Unreliable
To be fair, I didn't bother with tech support. I returned it. I found the pool eye to be annoying and unreliable. Installation was a pain. WAY too many tiny screws. Also, there is no way to shut the unit off indefinitely while you install. So the alarm goes off. A LOT. Once installed, I hade several false alarms. No disturbance in the water, but the unit went off anyway. Cleaning the pool is a pain with it installed too. Again, no way to shut it off indefinitely. You have to put it in swim mode and then make sure you disturb it enough to keep it in swim mode. The worst though was that it wouldn't go off when someone got in the pool. If someone was to fall in, sure, that would probably do it. But my 37lb toddler could climb right in undetected (and did, several times). I was there and I knew no one was going to get hurt, but the whole reason I bought the thing was to alert me if he tried to get in the pool. I recommend steering away from this and going with a physical barrier.

There is a lot of assembly required for this piece of equipment Regarding a small above ground pool it asks to A: drill into the frame of the pool railing, which may or may not even be possible depending on the pool you own. B: remove 15+ tiny VERY recessed Philips screws to remove the BATTERY COVER!! This is nearly a deal breaker, as the screws are VERY cheap and easy to strip even with a hand driver - if this happens the whole unit is bunk as without access to the 6(SIX) 9v(!!!) batteries required. The remote also needs a 9v battery - as a backup, this plugs in - has yet to be tested as I can't safely remove the cover from the sensor to power it on.... Very frustrating.

Please dont waist your money. I should have looked at the all the unpaid reviews. This thing is loud and no way to actualy turn it off witch makes the actual use of the pool terrible, the allarm goes off at random moments witch renderes it usless. Its badly designed and does not work. I could never put my trust in this item when it comes to my kids. Totally a wast of money!
