Oscar Schmidt OG2 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar - Natural

This is actually a beautiful guitar. Much more attractive than the photo on Amazon makes it out to be. I bought the red one to use for teaching and I added the fret board numbers to assist new students when we’re face to face. I also added the pick holder (because I like them) and I had to add the top strap pin. The guitar only comes with a bottom pin for the strap. Which is fine for people who don’t mind tying the strap to the head stock. I’m not one of those people. As stated, the guitar is beautiful to look at. It came packaged like any other guitar I’ve ever bought. Double boxed with a protective bag around the guitar itself. It arrived on time and does not have any damages or blemishes. The strings were loosened for shipping as they should be and only took two rounds of tuning before holding their tune perfectly. I have owned Oscar guitars before and will say they are probably my second favorite brand, after Fender, in what I consider to be an affordable price range ($100-$400). Great for beginners. And I doubt any professionals would complain about it either. If you like Oscar Schmidt, or are just shopping around for different brands, I can recommend buying this guitar without any hesitation. Just keep in mind that love for any guitar is unique to the individual as they develop and progress. I’m giving this guitar 5 stars because I can’t find any reasons to give it less.

I was browsing, being in the market for a new (another) lower end daily driver/boat acoustic. Also, I didn't have a black one yet. This thing popped up at an unbelievable low price that I don't even want to say, for fear that it was a mistake and it will get taken away! I pulled the trigger, I had to. Well, I'm blown away. Beautiful in black. The pickguard is a deep, bright red with marbling. Very nice inlays and binding. Nice compensated saddle. Great sound! Light, but not fragile feeling. I really can't believe I got this for less than a Rogue RA 090, which is a total piece of garbage. This guitar is nicer than my Epiphone DR100 also.Quality seems on par with my Fender CD-60. It's all I can do to not order a blue one.

Let me start off saying that I may beginner at guitar, but the quality and craftsmanship of this Oscar Smith Acoustic Guitar is top notch. I have been wanting to learn to play guitar for years now, it is my favorite musical instrument, so I decided it was time to stop putting it off and to start learning how to play guitar. I highly recommend this guitar, buy it, you won't regret it! 😎

I was looking forward to receiving this guitar, which only cost me $112.00. After unboxing from its double box shipping container, I found a beautiful looking guitar. Very pretty. And blue is my favorite color. I had high hopes. Those high hopes were dashed quickly when I realized that the protruding fret ends were so sharp that I could perform surgery with them. They are literally dangerous. I didn't even tune the guitar. Back in the box and returned to Amazon. I was disappointed.

I just got this guitar and am pretty impressed by it. It's not an overly loud guitar if you strum hard, but if you don't need a huge amount of volume it's pretty nice. It's has what I would call a bright sound. More midrange, less base, a little more twang. It's fairly easy to play with low action. It almost begs to be finger picked. If you need to play for other than a small group, then get one with an electric pickup. They are still quite reasonable. If you have the extra money, then a Washburn wd10 would probably be a little better. This is a Washburn made for Schmidt, and they may have cut a few corners but it's solid, plays nice, sounds nice, and stays in tune.

Beautiful! Has a lighter sound and keeps a nice resonance, ring.

I bought this as a "USED" item for $65.00. Best value on Amazon. This guitar is beautiful and plays nicely. Good action, decent sound with the factory strings. It came with a cheap gig bag, tuner, and extra strings Not a mark on the guitar, could not be differentiated from NEW. I am a 50+ years player with a fine collection of vintage as well as some new guitars. This one fits right in and looks great in between my Red Gibson SG and my Blue Epiphone Les Paul. I had been looking for a white player to create my Red, White and Blue section in my music room. Great value and makes me feel good to just look at it. Thanks Oscar and Amazon

I bought this guitar because I did not have one. I left mine in Maryland over a year ago and my best friend has yet to send it to me. The action on it is great. My signiticant other is trying to learn and the action is great for him. The strings that came on the guitar were a good quality and they are staying in tune. I only have to mess with it a little bit. I love this guitar. The paint is beautiful. The only problem I had was that the pick guard had advertising on it. So its nothing like the picture you can't peel the advertising off. I don't really want there to be some selling points on my guitar while I am playing with my friends. I had to rip off the pick guard which was a pain. Over all I am happy with this product. I would reccoment grabbing a new set of strings on amazon as well!

Excellent value for price. Had gone to see some used guitars and tried one of these out, was the best of the bunch. Ordered new as better value. Looks, plays, and sounds great. Would probably be pretty hard to find something of the same quality in this price range.

Muy buena guitarra, el sonido es excelente y el diseño me encanta, lo unico que no me gustó fueron las cuerdas que son muy gruesas, pero eso se puede cambiar, de cualquier forma estoy muy satisfecho con el producto y el vendedor fue rápido.

Sóc totalment novell amb la guitarra i després de llegir algunes opinons per la xarxa vaig decidir-me per aquesta. Amics músics que l'han provat m'han felicitat per la tria, és un instrument fantàstic i sona genial!
