Kept my plants alive for two months and I had water left over! Could have gone for more!
I was gone for two months and these kept all but one of my plants alive -- in the summer, when the temp of the house was 80 degrees. The mistake on the dead plant was that it had less soil, but had more rocks which was fine for every day watering -- and arguably used less water because of the rocks preventing evaporation -- but there wasn't enough dirt to keep moist with the insert. You need to have soil to keep moist.... but the other plants? Worked great! I also put some plastic wrap over the soil (not tight) to aid in keeping the soil from drying out to fast.

Worked great!
These worked really well for me. I came back after 4 weeks and all my plants (15+) were healthy and happy. I tried the watering stakes out for a couple of weeks ahead of my trip to find the arrangement that worked best for my plants small and large. And I was careful to follow the simple instructions.

Great product to keep plants alive when traveling
Use these larger devices for outdoor potted plants. Useful for hanging baskets as well. Lower baskets to area protected from full sun and these keep them watered when I can’t. Adjust the number of devices for size of pot and plant makes them versatile. They last through many seasons. Provide the correct amount of moisture while conserving water and avoiding over watering.

Worked for me
I was out of town for about two and a half weeks and I needed something to keep my indoor plants watered while I was away. I ended up ordering the original or junior Blumat for some 6-8” pots I had and the XL version for my bigger pots, which are like 10-12.” They were easy to set up and none of mine were broken upon delivery or when I shoved them into the soil. I followed the instructions to presoak them for a while and filled them up with water as shown. I rigged the smaller ones up to a gallon jug and put press and seal plastic wrap over the top. For the larger plants, I filled a five-gallon mop bucket about 3/4 full and wrapped the top of it in press and seal. They seemed to have worked fairly well. The little pots were overwatered. The bigger pots were completely out of water but the soil wasn’t too dry so it must’ve not happened super quickly. I’ll continue to work on another water reservoir with perhaps less evaporative surface for the next time I take an extended absence, and I’m going to try to use a completely full five gallon container of some sort. Like almost everything I buy anymore, I feel like these were kind of expensive, but ultimately they did the job without a lot of fuss.

These work great! Like magic! Make Life Easier
These things really work. My basil has never been happier! The capillary action from the water source really does work. I dont have to check my soil and water every day. I'm planning a week away from home and now im not worried about these plants.

Not exactly set and forget
The design of this system is a good one and it does work. Sometimes too well, and it will end up killing (drowning) your plant. Or, not work at all. n my experience, the best applications for it are large pots and/or plants that need constant moisture (ferns, peace lilies). It drowned my pothos in a 6" pot. And it doesn't work well in loose, chunky soil because it works via capillary action. So the only places I have it now are in a large fern's pot, a large palm's pot, and in a peace lily. This may work better for potted plants outdoors. I can see the utility of this when going on vacation and for plants that have to be kept constantly moist, but for the rest, you need to monitor this so that you don't end up with a rotted plant or one that ended up crispy because water never got delivered to its roots.

Plant watering device
Seemed to have worked great. The watering can was empty upon returning. They kept the plants alive while I was away for a week.

Saved my Fiddle Leaf Fig
I was given an enormous Ficus Benjamina tree, in a large pot with compacted soil. It has to be indoors for the winter, and having limited experience with houseplants, I was afraid to overwater and kill it, and to have water leaking from the large pot. Enter the blumat. The tree has done great! I then bought a Ficus Lyrata online, that arrived lush from Florida, and promptly lost almost all its leaves due to the cold. It seems like no matter where I put it it was unhappy. Finally, with only a handful of leaves left, I was going to toss it in the trash (very sadly). But, I decided to give it one last chance and give it the exact same treatment as the other Ficus. I put it right next to the Bejamina, under a terrarium LED light, and put a Blumat in it. In less than a week, ALL its drooping leaves are now pointing to the sky again! I love that the plant seems to drink only as much water as it needs and no more. And I love that I can SEE (in the water reservoir) exactly when it needs to be watered again. I am sure the LED helped too. But Blumat is great. Most of my houseplants are in semihydroponics/hydroton/LECA, but for anything planted in soil, Blumat is the way to go. I am recommending it to all the green thumbs in my life. Plus, you can just change the size of the water reservoir (I use ball jars at the moment) if you want to travel, knowing the plants will be fine. I wish I had known about this years ago.

Funciona a la perfección y fácil de poner
Funciona perfectamente. He puesto una botella con agua a la misma altura que la maceta y el cable entre ellas y el agua riega a mi laurel sin problemas y exceso de agua. Totalmente recomendado.

Fantastic product
Super good product. I used it this summer for the first time. We were away for 3 weeks and when we came back the plants looked great. It is a relief not to depend on neighbours, relatives and favours to water your plants when you are away. I have bought a few more to give to my mum and sister. I really like the product.

It's a bit fiddly, need to adjust for water flow
So you have to fiddle around with it a lot (adjusting the height of the water source relative to the plant pot). My plants were a bit dry when I got back from holiday but they were still alive, so I can't fault it. The instructions that came with it aren't sufficient. They don't tell you that you need to clear the tube of all air and they don't tell you the best way of doing that. Found a YouTube video that had good instructions on how to do that. Glad I found a solution to watering the plants when I'm away!
