Post Surgery Miracle
I'm recovering from ACL+ reconstruction, and the recovery hasn't been going as well as hoped. I had the full leg brace and then graduated to the custom-made knee brace I wore for over a year prior to the surgery. With the encouragement of my doctor and PT, I was trying to do without either brace as much as possible. Unfortunately, one of the complications I've had has been excessive fluid in my knee which causes my knee to stop functioning. I was falling a lot, holding on to furniture just to walk across the room.My doctor prescribed this brace (I ordered itwo off of Amazon because they offered different colors). Since I started wearing it 2 weeks ago I haven't fallen once. Yes, by the end of the day it's uncomfortable just as every other brace has been, but I'm not falling! I feel like I'm finally making some solid progress in my recovery. Fluid build up, while still an issue is better - the compression helps push it out of the knee far better than the compression sleeves the doctor first recommended.I have a feeling I'll be wearing this brace for quite a while based on my doctor's eval - maybe a year or more post surgery. The brace still allows my knee to bend to walk up and down stairs (finally), and will probably mean I can return to hiking much earlier than I would otherwise. It also allows me to wear pants - something the other braces didn't.Knee injury, surgical recovery, whatever the knee issue is - check with your doctor to see if this brace is right for your situation.

Mosh Pit with a Torn Meniscus!
This brace is amazing, so much stabilization. Totally makes it possible for me to be active with a torn meniscus. Very easy to adjust to fit well and my knee joint is super supported. The on/off process is way better than the neoprene thing the doctor gave me.I survived a mosh pit with this thing aftera day of hiking and then ran around at the beach the next day— I would not have believed this was possible before. With this thing I feel like I can be active again without falling over in pain.I did have to put cushioned tape on one corner bc it was signing into my thigh a bit. This is prob bc I have heavier thighs than the athletes it was designed for. Minor addition fixed it though.Really thankful for this brace!

Very uncomfortable
I ordered this brace after having meniscus surgery on my knee 5 months ago. I was hoping it would provide support for me while trying to get back into activities like hiking, biking, and skiing. I measured my leg according to the instructions and ordered a size large. After the brace arrived, I tried it on with the compression sleeve. It was so tight that I could not wear it. I tried the brace without the sleeve and it fit ok. It has to be strapped on tight to work properly, which makes it less comfortable. I decided to try it on a mountain bike ride. I strapped it on and loaded my bike into my truck for a 15 minute drive to the trails. My leg was in pain by the time I arrived due to the brace. I rode around for about 2 minutes and the brace was very uncomfortable and did not perform as I was hoping. I took it offI think the problem is on the design. It seems like once the knee is flexed, it stretches the plastic until the knee is in the straight position. This does not allow partial flexion, which renders it useless for me and what I wanted to use it for.I ended up finding a better one made by 3m at my local cvs. I have worn it skiing multiple times and often forget it is there as it provides the support I want.I do not recommend this brace because in my opinion it is so uncomfortable that I do not want to wear it.

UPDATED:Amazon resolved the confusion over the brace and I have faith in them again
UPDATE:I did resolve the issue with Amazon and my surgeon ended up ordering me this brace for me and it was sold by the manufacturer and will hopefully be covered by my insurance company. I did get the next size up and now the hinges actually work (they couldn’t work with the brace from Amazon being too small).I don’t know how well this brace works for other issues, but the issue causing my pain is patellar maltracking which has developed over the years into arthritis. I first began having knee pain in 2016, I guess. I would think it would help with anything requiring kneecap support. It is the only brace that is able to give me pain relief and fits my kneecap. The biggest issue I see is that the size chart is not the same as on the manufacturer’s website. The manufacturer advised me to order one from them but they are more expensive. They then said to at least use their size chart if I order from Amazon. I will likely order from somewhere else altogether as Amazon seems to be telling me they are giving me a refund and it is not appearing. There was some confusion on my part about whether or not it fit after they initially refunded my money when it didn’t seem to fit and hurt as part of it digs into my knee. So I then tried using the sleeve and it helped with the pain from the brace so I thought since it was supporting my kneecap it fit me. I actually asked Amazon to charge me again as I didn’t want to use the brace after getting a refund being that it is so expensive. But I realized that the hinges need to be on the sides of my knee and instead they are just beside the kneecap and my legs are wider than a medium/large, so the hinges are not on the side of my knee. I then asked for the money back again and now I guess Amazon thinks I am changing my mind too much and I think the real issue is that they need to have the correct sizing information in the pictures. I would not recommend anyone buy this unless they check the manufacturer’s website first.

Best knee brace I have found!
This is my second DonJoy Reaction Knee Brace. I LOVE THEM! This brace gives me tremendous support and moves/bends easily. It is by far the best knee brace I have ever used and I have used a number of them. I use it exercising, hiking in the mountains, and doing dog agility. Some other braces (and even a different DonJoy knee brace) sometimes pinch the sides or back of your knee when you are moving. This one is comfortable and provides lots of support. I removed one star for the following reasons: 1) The velcro on my first reaction knee brace quickly wore out and wouldn't stick anymore. I did call DonJoy and purchased a velcro add-on so that the brace would hold but it didn't have the same tightness as this new one does; 2) Like all braces, it is hot, but that seems to be the nature of the beast; 3) If you wear this brace over pants, it doesn't stay up as well as I would like and keeps slipping down. It really does much better staying put when it is next to your skin (which does make you pretty sweaty!). There is a sleeve that comes with it but I still think it stays in place best with it next to your skin. Despite these 3 things, I still think this is the best brace out there, and I highly recommend it. For reference, I injured my knee in a fall whereby I nicked all the ligaments and tendons; the patella tendon had to be re-attached; and I shattered all the cartilage in my knee. This beauty does the trick for me! It was recommended by my PT and orthopedic surgeon and they were spot on!

Price point is good, quality needs work
This is the 2nd purchase of the same brace. Although the company indicates they have "improved" the Velcro, the same issue exists. One month after the purchase, the Velcro is not holding. I wear the brace 3 times a week about 5 hours at a time for bowling. It's a great design, it is cool which is what I was looking for and most of all it helps with my arthritis pain. It comes with a sleeve for warmth (which I don't need). I tried wearing the sleeve without the brace and discovered it makes my knee hurt since it compresses my knee. The web portion of the brace (at the top) breaks down in about 6 months & will eventually tear - that's why I had to replace the brace. The price point of this brace is good but the quality needs work.

Self adjusting tension and low profile
This so far is a great brace, I can adjust where I need tighter support and it’s low profile. I don’t have an ACL so this also is pretty supportive and restricting shifting. Glad I can wear it in water too,

Brace
I shredded my knee a year ago and it is continuing to heal. I’m not sure it will ever heal completely. I ripped the kneecap right off sideways and everything that was holding it was torn. The knee literally went backwards 4 inches. That is the wrong direction to be going backwards! An orthopedic surgeon gave me this brace and it has been by far the best brace I’ve used. Due to the very high price, I have attempted to use at least 20 different styles of braces since. That has been a huge waste of time and money. And in the end, I lost my original brace on a trip. And I’ve ended up ordering two more of these $80 braces. The price is absolutely ridiculous and I feel taken advantage of by the price. But I love these braces. They make me feel more stable than any other others. I highly recommend this lightweight brace. It keeps my kneecap in the spot where it needs to be, and the height of the brace makes my leg feel much more stable. When my knee was at its worst in the beginning this was not nearly enough support by itself. I think I was on crutches for about nine months. The brace rolls up compactly for storage or travel. I washed this in the washing machine all of the time and hang it to dry.

Supportive knee brace, not too bulky - works well if sized and fitted correctly
We have used this knee brace brace extensively in the past, and this purchase is for the second knee, which now is also getting old! This item was delayed by some weeks, but the vendor contacted us to explain that their supplier was out of stock, so at least we were kept informed.
