I love this book overall but the binding would of course be better in spiral it can lay flat or be folded open. It’s not easy sometimes to have it near me in the folded open position without it wanting to open and fall.But spiral probably jacks up the price and you could just use a binder with loose-leaf graph paper I suppose. I prefer this type of book instead for portability in my bag and putting on a shelf or in the basket.So it’s good that the binding is glued well and seems sturdy. Though I mostly just got started, I am pretty hard on this book and I don’t think pages will be falling out easily. I wish it were bigger so the graph squares are larger and/or so I could fit more stuff on one page. I like to make notes or changes and tape in ideas or samples. So right now I’m using two pages facing each other as needed.It’s the size of a regular sheet of paper at 8.5x11 but it would be so stellar at 11x14 or whatever a bigger size would need to be.Maybe even less pages if that’s too heavy? I think most of us won’t mind buying a few thinner books if they’re longer/wider and more functional for adding taped items and samples of colors or stitches, notes, variations and fixes.Overall, WELL DONE!! I’m getting another soon.

Good quality and great for making your own patterns. It is smaller though, so sometimes I had to tape multiple sheets together. I like that highlighter doesn’t bleed though the pages.

I don't remember it stated in the description anywhere, but fyi this is 10-count - 10 squares per inch. Every other page on the right side has a small offset in the horizontal lines. Not a big deal, but something that hopefully will be corrected in future printings.

This book is great for designing & planning patterns. my only complaint is the book doesn't lay flat.
