Save Me (The Archer Brothers Book 3)

I want to start this review by saying that I believe that Save Me is Heidi McLaughlin’s best book to date. Save Me is well written, thoughtful and an absolutely wonderful read that I loved from page one until the very end! Save Me is book 3 in The Archer Brothers series, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. The author added a preface before the prologue giving you some background details as well as lots of information throughout the book, making it easy not to feel as though you are missing something. With that being said I highly recommend you read books 1 and 2; Here With Me and Choose Me for a lot of reasons. Both of these books are very well written excellent stories that will have you on the edge of your seat and you really need to meet the beauty of Evan Archer!! Save Me does focus on all four SEALs but the center of this story is Tucker McCoy. Tucker is a Navy SEAL who was declared dead 6 years ago. Much to his surprise and the 3 other men on his team he comes home to find out he is dead and his wife and daughter have vanished. Tucker and his team search for answers as to what and why this all happened to them they also search for Penny and Claire McCoy. But Penny is hiding and nobody knows why. The story begins to unfold from there and boy, was there an insanely devilish and detailed story. I could not put my kindle down, I was completely captivated! People who I thought were bad weren’t and people who appear good might not be. I really loved how the team along with some help worked together and Heidi really showed that they were truly brothers. Tucker McCoy is the perfect hero. He is so strong and protective as well as kind and loving. His love for his wife was so deep and unwavering even in the worst of circumstances. I loved being inside his head because to me he really is such a complex man. One who could be so gentle, understanding and loving one minute and a man who dreams of ways to torture and kill the next. I could not blame him either; hell I wanted to torture and maim some people myself. My heart really bled for Tucker because things were just never easy, but my Tucker had patience and determination and shouldn’t a man as admirable as him get his happy ever after? This book had me on so many emotional ups and downs. I cried more than once, but there was a scene in a motel that had me weeping, I was completely done for. There is nothing better than book that makes you feel, that makes you lose yourself in its pages and characters. No matter if you feel happy, sad, mad amused or in love, it evokes such strong feelings. This book did just that for me. Heidi McLaughlin has really created some magic in these pages and I give her and Save Me 5 hero worthy Stars!!!

So I couldn't wait for this book to come out because I wanted the answers that we deserved from the onset. Why? Why did someone thinking it was okay to destroy the lives of four soldiers? It just boggled my mind. I couldn't wait to read about Tucker. Wanted to see how this story would unfold for him, hoping that it wasn't just because he was part of River's team. Unfortunately it was a little more involved for Tucker than he probably ever wanted to know. Just reminds you just how sick some people are. My heart went out to Penny. Being faced with that kind of threat right after being told your husband 'died '? Well she handled it fairly well I'd say. The reason I didn't rate this book higher is for a couple of reasons. First, I thought her divulging her secret to Ray and Claire could have been handled better, but the main reason is the numerous grammatical errors throughout the book! It is seriously frustrating to read a story where you say this instead of his, bought instead of brought, etc. Get it together! Your proofreader, if you had one, and your editor failed you a few times in this book. There's no way they read this book in its entirety and not catch those errors. They need to read what is there, not what should be there. It messes with the flow of the story or what you are trying to say, causing the reader to have to go back a sentence or two to understand what you meant. Overall, a good story so don't miss out.

Tucker McCoy returned home after 6 years on deployment only to find someone else living in his house, and his wife and daughter missing. When his teammates find their families’ believed the men dead, he knows something happened to spook his wife, he just doesn’t know what. Or where to find her. Watching Tucker’s anguish about his missing family through Ryley and Evan’s eyes was one thing, but to have his narration, with Penny’s alternating, made the heartache that much clearer. This was a man who loved his family, and suddenly had no clue how to protect them, nor what they needed protecting from. Knowing where Penny was, and eventually what had led to her midnight flight, I couldn’t help but be torn. On one hand I wanted Tucker to find her so he could have his happy, but I knew that when he did find her there would be a lot to sort through in order for him to have his happy. Penny is a smart woman. Resourceful, suspicious, and protective, her every move over the 6 years since Tucker was declared dead have been to protect her daughter. The fear she felt only drove her father and faster and the lengths she went to were what any mother would do for her child. There were some surprising events that I can only hope mean there will be more books in the series. Many of my questions from the end of Choose Me were answered, but I always want *everyone* on a team to find resolution and it kills me that there are still members who are hurting. This story was less about them adjusting to the men’s return, as was the case with Here With Me and Choose Me, and more about Tucker’s search and the team’s continued attempts to clear their names and find out who is targeting them. The suspect list is long, and the mystery surrounding exactly why this team was targeted is blurry. But the action and suspense kept the story moving even when it did not appear Tucker and Penny would find each other again.

I have been looking forward to Save Me and it sure did not disappoint! My heart went out to Tucker who thought he was going home to a wife and daughter only to find they had all but vanished. While you do not need to read the first two in the series to enjoy this book, it only enhanced my love of everyone involved in this book in helping to locate Tucker's family. I love that the whole gang got involved so we got to see SEALs Archer, McCoy, and Rask together in action as well as other key players that all rally and help on this mission. It was filled with mystery, suspense, and fast-paced action there is never a dull moment that's for sure. And let's not forget the love story. The love and respect Tucker has for Penny and Claire to only want what was best for them is true love. Even if it means sacrificing his own happiness and losing everything if they have moved on and are happy. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and was left so satisfied in how it concluded.

WOW!!! I finished Save Me late last night. It was either that or forget everything else today. There was no way I wasn't going to find out what happens next. I became obsessed with their mission, their search. I knew Save Me would be good because the author is amazing. I knew I would like it because I already love the characters from Here With Me and Choose Me. However, I didn’t realize how much I would like it. The story was an absolute nail biter. I sat riveted to my seat waiting to see what would happen next. In some instances I was so shocked, my children could hear me yelling “what” from their bedrooms. In others, I wanted to reach in the book and strangle a character. I know that I will be doing a marathon read of all of the Archer Brother books in the near future. I will be devouring each book page by page. I will be crying. I will be screaming. I will tremble. I will be furious. Mostly, I will enjoy the heck out of it.

I feel emotionally exhausted. Such a wonderful and twisted story. I am not good with summaries so I'll say that I loved the way it played out. I loved how it wasn't full of angst but it wasn't insta love and HEA. The plot is - hard, the true crime that happens is hard to read. There are some details that made my tummy hurt but it leads us down a path to find Penny and WHY she ran. I felt the end was a bit abrupt. I thought we would be teased with River or Rask's story ... I thought maybe we would be teased with who was taking the pictures of Claire .... I have a theory but it is far fetched. Save Me was really about Tucker and his love for his family, and getting them safe no matter what.

When I got this book I had a slight idea what it was about, and love and behold it kept me on my edge, I could not read it fast enough, I wanted the same answers that Tucker and his men wanted. Then to find out this story took place in a area a lived, well that made it even better for me. To see these men remain close despite of what was done to them, was great, to see Tucker persevere through our that time and keep the hope alive that he would find his wife and daughter was riveting. I could barely contain myself and had to be careful not to take a peak at the end to see what the ending was, but I held and had a wonderful trip through a story that was totally riveting, warm at times one could see the ugliness in men's souls and action, but our hero's persevered and won the day. Thank you Heidi McLaughlin for a wonderful trip..

I honestly thought this book was going to be better, I enjoyed the beginning of the book but as it reached the end it felt like the author was tired of writing it and rushed through the end. It bugs me that we never find out how they knew where Penelope was, it leaves it open to interpretation which just leaves me flat. Then miraculously they get together and are one big happy family, not believable and was disappointed in the ending of this book. On another note that did not make sense to me at all is the daughter is supposed to be around 2 when they disappear and its only been six years making her to be around 8; but in the book she is in middle school; anyone else see a problem with that? Things just didnt seem to be cohesive with this one and what a bummer it turned out to be.

This book was amazing! I loved the twists and turns that kept popping up and keeping me on the edge of my seat! This was Tucker and Penny's story and I'm so glad that he got his own book! Tucker came home from being on a SEAL mission for six years to find his wife and daughter gone. They were no where to be found and no one knew where they had gone. This tells you about the struggles that he goes through and why Penny just disappeared. This is one of the best series I've read and I highly recommend it to people who like Romantic Suspense

Loved this book, so many feelings. It was like a roller coaster ride, it left you wishing that it was legal to keep both the twins. I bought this book because of the 1st book in the series and when I finished book 2 I just had to read book 3 to find out how the story ended.

El reencuentro de la pareja es muy emotivo. Recomiendo esta serie de libros.

I love the author and didn't realise that this was in essence Book 3 of the series. You really have to read the first 2 books to get the whole story. This book was the icing on the cake and answered a lot of questions from the first 2 books. Absolutely spellbinding and gut wrenching story of love and loss. Amazing story so well written and a heck of a lot of "didn't see that coming" Definitely recommend you 1 click now, buy them all its a journey worth taking

I really think to enjoy this book fully you need to read books 1&2 first. There were too many loose ends and people who came into the story which made the story confusing, too many loose ends, however, this was an enjoyable read
