I was umming and arrring a fair bit before spending this amount on a record cleaner. I looked and looked and then decided if it actually didn’t work as intended it could always be sent back. I needn’t have worried!So far I have cleaned over 30 records with the spincare and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement! It goes together easily and the components seem to be solid. The record holder stores inside the actual “bath” so it’s really easy to put away when you’re finished cleaning.The records, some over 50 years old have been given a new lease of life. I’d cleaned by hand, washed and scrubbed with varying cleaning methods and thought they were as good as they’d ever be. How wrong I was. Now I’m pretty sure the ultrasonic cleaners are amazing, but £400 plus just isn’t in my price bracket. This little beauty has really surprised me and doing a great job. It’s actually relaxing sitting at the table going through the cleaning process.The microfibre cloths that come with the device are superb quality and the cleaning solution seems to do a great job.One thing to note, if a records in bad shape, it’s in bad shape. There’s nothing any cleaner can do. I have a bad copy of Queens Night at the Opera and hoped the Spincare would revitalise it. No, it’s just in too bad a shape. You just have to move on.All in all I’m over the moon, and for the price of a couple of new vinyl records I have given my whole collection a new life! Brilliant!

For the price of a couple of new LPs, or even 1x new LP depending on what you buy, you can have this. It's absolutely great at cleaning. Compared to other products I've tried in a similar price point, e.g., Groove washer, which didn't actually clean the record's grooves, this was a game changer.I had an old, used Bob Seger album I bought from the bargain bin of my local record store. Despite cleaning it multiple times with GrooveWasher, and LOOKING clean to the naked eye, the stylus was picking up all sorts of film from the grooves. Either this was residue the GrooveWasher left behind from its own cleaning fluid, or it was gunge that the GrooveWasher simply could not eliminate. Either way, it resulted in a cloudy, muffled record playback which made it sound like Bob was playing from the next room instead of from the speakers directly in front of me.I wasn't too disheartened, since it was an inexpensive record. But I got the SpinCare as a last resort before binning the record off and it worked like a charm. The record sounds great now.A second record actually had a skip in one of the tracks which was eliminated after a few runs through the SpinCare (which means it must've been something in the groove rather than a physical issue with the groove itself).It's not magic. It won't fix scratches. Nothing can do that. And there are cleaners which can no doubt clean faster, deeper, more thoroughly, and even with automatic functions. But for an entry level cleaner I'd recommend this to anyone.

I've had my SpinCare record bath for about six months now. I often buy used records from record fairs and Discogs, usually in a sizeable batch to save on postage. A record bath made sense to me, as opposed to the manual fluid-and-cloth method I'd used for years.For the purpose of this review, I'm going to assume that, like me, you also buy your records in batches of 10-20 wherever possible. If you buy only the occasional used record here and these, it's not for you.I followed the instructions for a while, but it wasn't working. Records would sound worse AFTER than they did BEFORE - often manifested as a once-per-revolution splodgy sound, particularly around the inner and outer grooves and during the gaps between tracks. I deduced this was dust, dirt and debris accumulated on the brushes that got deposited back on the record as you inserted and removed it from the bath.Since I stopped following the instructions and did my own thing, results have significantly improved. Records were good to play and enjoyable within an hour, even over headphones; they were virtually noise-free and left little-to-no gunk on my stylus. Here's how I got to those results:When you buy the record bath, you will be given 2 x 150ml bottles of SpinCare cleaning fluid which you'll have to mix with either Distilled or De-ionised water. The instructions suggest you use 4 capfuls each time. 4 capfuls equates to about 40ml in a 750ml bath: a ratio of about 1 part fluid to 20 parts water. It's enough to clean off any fingerprints or grease off the surface - making the record *look* clean - or discharge the static from a fresh-out-of-shrinkwrap LP, but does little more. Instead, pour the whole bottle in there FIRST and top up with water - that'll give you a ratio of 1 in 4 comparable to most ready-mixed commercial cleaning fluids. That's enough to clean even records that have been stashed in someone's loft for years.I also found the supplied solution lacks any effective surfactants - this is what allows the solution to break surface tension and penetrate deep into the grooves. A couple of drops of unscented, lab-grade washing up liquid is enough to fulfil this requirement. A 750ml bottle will set you back less than a fiver at current prices, but will last years.You now have an effective cleaning fluid, so you can go ahead and spin your records three times in each direction before placing on the drying rack. It doesn't have to be three times - if you lose count, an extra turn won't hurt.Don't use the supplied cloths to help dry your records, even if you've washed them as per the instructions. In fact - don't use ANY cloth at all. Let the records air dry COMPLETELY. It'll take 45-60 minutes for each rack of 10 records, but you won't be introducing any dust, debris, static or fibres from the cloth. Any airborne dust that falls onto the record while its still wet will simply drip into the tray. The washing-up liquid ensures you won't have any water spots left on your record either.Okay - you've used up both bottles of SpinCare's fluid - where do you go now? When I bought my record bath, a 150ml bottle cost £8 or you could get a 1l bottle for £20. Don't bother. They're basically over-priced branded bottles of Isopropanol. You can get twice as much for roughly half the price elsewhere on Amazon.And finally, look after your velvet pads. They're the parts in contact with your records and most likely to capture any filth that was on them. When you're done cleaning your records, don't rinse them under the tap as instructed - they advise you to use distilled/de-ionised water in the bath, so why rinse your pads under tap water? Let them dry in a cupboard where they won't be exposed to as much airborne dust. When you next need to use them, give them a good rub down with a firm-bristled brush - a toothbrush will do - and they're good to go.It is possible to get great results from this bath - even on musty old records. It may take a little extra investment, but an extra fiver spent on lab-grade washing-up liquid and a toothbrush justifies how much time and effort it will save you.

I had my doubts about this, it seemed too simple, but other much more expensive methods are beyond my budget, so I decided to give this a go. It hasn't got an automatic function, its 'hands on'. It doesn't fire millions of plutonium atoms at your vinyl, it's simply uses distilled water and a washing solution. Insert your vinyl into the brush and roller set-up, slowly rotate 3-4 times in both directions by hand, pull out and leave to dry. After about ten minutes wipe any excess liquid off with the supplied lint free cloth. Done.If you've got a batch to do its a few hours methodical work but I can say with great assurance, well worth the effort. I keep my vinyl in good condition but all things kept for decades deteriorate in their condition and sound reproduction slightly as they collect grime. The two 12” albums shown are 40+ years old yet once patiently cleaned sounded like new.

I recently decided to buy a record deck again after years of cd buying, downloading and streaming.Thankfully, I have kept my collection of albums (200) and singles (50). Dating back to 1971.I never thought I would play them again but I am too sentimental and could never get rid of them. They have always been stored indoors in a cabinet my dad built for me back in the mid 70s. That said, having gone through a fair few after a period of 30 years, I found that some have a very slight mould growth in places.I did buy some cleaning fluid etc, but wanted something better than fluid and a brush/cloth and a decent carbon fibre brush.Having researched options I settled on the Spin Care solution.I dug out some albums that looked like they needed a clean, and a few that looked ok. So far, I have cleaned 23.I am extremely pleased with the results. The albums have come out spotless. Before cleaning, one album, A Hateful if Hollow, by The Smiths, was quite crackly and I was considering replacing it. This was the first one I cleaned. Whilst the record has not come up to a perfect standard, which I wasn't expecting anyway, there is a significant improvement such that it does not need replacing.The kit itself is a doddle to use and it packs up neatly with the drying rack.I will be cleaning all of my albums over the next month or so.All records cleaned are being put into a new fresh plastic inner liner with a fresh external protector for the cover....Spin Care do great value options for these two and are really a must......certainly the inners which help prevent static, scratches from paper liners and dust.If you need to clean your collection and have doubts about this product, buy one. You will not be disappointed.Just bear in mind that it is a record cleaner, it will not 'repair' damaged or worn vinyls.

It can't cure scratches, but boy can it work some magic on crackles and pops . My original release 1974 Rod Argent album sounds almost like a brand new pressing. The magic cleaning solution is, I think, isopropyl alcohol so cheap enough to buy elsewhere. The build quality is great, and it looks and feels like a premium product. The whole kit is compact when not in use . Although plastic it feels substantial. At this price I'd strongly recommend.

I have a decent sized vinyl collection my oldest album 1963 and my newest 1980. So at the time of writing my youngest album is still nearly 45 years old !!. In all that time I'm ashamed to say all I've done is blow the dust off the playing surfaces and used a record cleaning brush. I needed to clean my records it was decades overdue !!. I didn't want to spend 100"s of pounds on a machine ( I'd rather use the money to buy more albums). So the spincare system seemed like a good option. Im going to be honest, I was apprehensive about buying anything that might render them unplayable, but I brought the record cleaner and the result has been amazing. I listen to prog rock so I regard myself as a critical listener. It's not the sort of music you put on and then have it as background music, you sit down and really listen to it. I can honestly say that my albums simply play so much better. They sound clearer and more vibrant than before and by a considerably amount as well. The vinyl itself looks like new again. It shines and the surfaces are dust, hair and debris free. Definitely an excellent purchase for anyone who has an old collection or perhaps albums that have been brought 2nd hand. Or simply a collection that needs to be cleaned to play and sound better. Just read the instructions contained within the packaging and follow them to the letter. Use Distilled water NOT TAP WATER... I would also recommend that you throw away the old paper sleeves that the albums came in and buy some anti static sleeves. This is a superb bit of kit and I highly recommend it and have no regrets in buying it.

Brilliant product. I had a few hundred records that had been stored in the garage for 10 years. Sealed in a box but still attracted mould and dirt. Sounded terrible after using cleaner and a cloth. Using this the effort was washed out rather than rubbed in. The records sound like new.After saying that, like another stated. A capfull of solution is unlikely to shift much. I used around 70% distilled water and 30% isopropyl alcohol.I deducted a star because of the horrific price for something that probably only cost a few pounds to produce.

Excelente sistema de limpieza. El silencio absoluto en un vinilo entero es imposible, siempre puede aparecer un cric, pero el resultado, sobretodo en los vinilos viejos, es muy bueno. Pienso que lo ideal es limpiar de 20 en 20.

It does what's advertised and my criticism is directed at this type of system more so than the specific product. It does what it advertises well but you do need a LOT of distilled water which makes me question the point of it.I've actually just started filling a spray bottle with some distilled water, isopropyl and dish soap. And I used the felt pads that come with this to clean records without going through the whole bath setup. This is better for my needs as I clean newly purchased records before playing instead of waiting until I need to clean 50 at a time.

Die Handhabung ist einfach und die Reinigungsergebnisse sind gut.Man sollte allerdings etwas Zeit mitbringen. Die Platten werden von Hand gereinigt und müssen entsprechend sorgfältig gedreht und behandelt werden. Auch das anschließende Trocknen benötigt seine Zeit, wenn man ein wirklich gutes Ergebnis erzielen möchte.Wer eine große Sammlung möglichst schnell reinigen möchte, sollte sich vielleicht nach einer elektrischen Lösung umsehen. Für den privaten Gebrauch und kleinere bis mittlere Sammlungen ist das System aber absolut ausreichend und bietet ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit.
