Civil PE Construction Module, Practice Problems, Second Edition

This book is the single best investment if you are taking the new Construction Section for your Depth. Construction had lowest overall test passing rate for OCT2014 in Civil and you will need all the help you can get. This book, literally saved my bacon on a least 4-5 depth questions. Also, very good overview on some of the 'breadth' of CONSTRUCTION. This is key to understanding the basis of depth questions if you are unfamiliar with anything in particular. I Highly Recommend this book along with the Author's other Construction Module Book. Well worth the $$$. One request for the author... add more information/questions on piles and CPM.

The book is worth reviewing prior to the exam. Not sure if the questions are formatted and similar to the Exam, but it serves to immerse one in the subject matter. Good for those last minute cram sessions. Editing isn't all that great, but who cares. Especially when the study guide selection is limited.

I had hoped this would be of the same caliber of the classic Lindenberg books. It has a long was to go before getting there, but it still had some benefit to my understanding of the concepts I needed to master for the exam. There are also numerous typos and mistakes. At first the discovery of these was somewhat frustrating, but I tried to use these conflicts and errors as springboards in my understanding of problems - an unintentional benefit. The format of this book also suggests it was typed up on a computer and not formatted in any way. I would suggest that for future editions, the author would; 1) request some peers reviews and thorough proof-reading 2) compare the difficulty af the problems with other texts. Many of the problems seem too easy and not challenging enough to require the user deepen their learning. 3) format the book for visual conveinience, with appropriately sized headers for easy "back and forth" between problems and solution etc. 4) draw diagrams in a proper drawing program rather than crudely with mismatching lines.

This is my second purchase from this author. Although I am watching webinars, this book as an excellent addition to my study arsenal.

I would agree that there isn't many other review manuals out there for the construction depth exam but that doesn't mean this book is great. The book does contain a lot of material that is relevant but it is littered with mistakes. I have found many mistakes within this book. From numberical errors to wrong approaches for solving simply supported beam problems. Its very difficult to give this book a high rating when there are so many errors. Also, the grammer is terrible. The author should have paid someone to review his grammer prior to publishing this.

some grammatical errors and a few answers that were obviously wrong but easy to catch. all in all, great study guide. covers construction well and taps into the breadth subjects for other topics.

There are so many mathematical as well as conceptual errors.Reading this book may confuse you and ultimately prove harmful to you.Even author has not given his email or mail address/phone no to contact to clear the errors/concepts.It is non standard. One should not consider if he/she want to pass PE exam.

This book is a comprehensive source for the construction portion of the PE Exam, it has a ton of great problems that give the reader a good understanding of the material. I highly recommend this book,
