are these similar to thomastik infeld plectrum?

I've never used Plectrum strings. I usually use light gauge (12-53) strings but bought these when I wanted to try something iighter (11-50). I then went back to D'Addario light. But, I totally agree with the reviewer who says that strings are a very subjective and personal choice for guitarists. If I were you I'd buy a set of each and give them a try. Strings are by far the cheapest part of playing guitar. Good luck!

What gauges are the slightly light strings?

11-50…great strings, sounds so good. The only thing I had some reservation about these is the noise it makes while you are moving your fingers along the frets…a bit too much for me.

Why are these double the price of the regular light version?

No Idea. I do like them enormously, and you can find them more normally priced elsewhere; you'll have to order a bunch to get free shipping, though.
