OREI HDMI Splitter 1 in 4 Out – 4K@30Hz HDMI 2.0 Splitter with HDCP 1.4, EDID Management, and LPCM/Dolby/DTS Audio Support–Compact Plug & Play Design

I bought this HDMI switch because I needed to connect several devices (laptop, console and other devices) to a single TV, and the truth is that it perfectly fulfills what it promises. The installation is super simple: you connect the cables and that's it, it works without configuration. In addition, the remote control makes everything more comfortable because you can change the font without getting up.

Item works great! I'm able to have two different inputs be displayed on 4 diferent outputs. Makes switching outputs easy for meetings. No more swapping cords around!

it works with no problems

Ir is weak picking up the remote on this unit, you have to be level with the remote to the unit for remote to work but other than that it's a okay unit. Like the split screen and the quad screen. Also nice having the audios output. One thing I noticed is I use a HDMI audio extractor and I was getting echoing so I had to unhook the extractor and only use the audio output from this. Not happy with that.

I used this item for an event recently to distribute various images to various screens. It worked a charm. A few notes: Even if you switch between two active sources, there will be a blue screen in the process of switching. In a dark room with a big screen, this will be almost a blinding light for an audience if switching from a dark source. I did not try the RS232 switching feature. I did not try the remote. However, I ordered this unit for the RS232 switching feature. Perhaps I can update this review after I try both the remote and serial control. The unit looks and feels solid and I enjoyed using it. The metal case is great. I'm looking forward to implementing this unit into a bigger project once I get talking to it with the serial port. ** EDIT 1: DEC 15 2024 ** I just had the same event, new year, and the matrix worked great again. I have the same feedback as I have not tried to operate RS-232 just yet. I would, however, like to offer a constructive criticism to the product design. It would be great to have a screen printed I/O listing on top of the unit at the back; with this information listed under the inputs and outputs on the back, there isn't a good way to see it when trying from the front or above the unit to plug things in. I took some board strip tape and manually labeled it on top, but it would be a great addition to the enclosure design.

Worked great. Signal very strong. Video quaity is excellent. No issues with transaction.

Pretty much plug and play - Connected it and it works great! I am quite confused by the EID setting options so I left the default setting alone and it worked. Only thing though - It has several blue leds on the front and man, they are almost blindingly BRIGHT! No way to turn them off so I had to cover them with a piece of paper. Still, I am very pleased with the purchase! But please note - This is NOT some sort of a port expander that it used with a PC to display different displays from one source as some customers have expected. This is a duplicator - Displays on one or more displays per input.

I am hoping someone has run into this problem and can help me. I have my HDMI cable coming out of my 3rd generation Amazon Fire TV going into an HDMI splitter; specifically, an OREI HD-104 1 X 4 4 Ports HDMI Splitter for Full HD 1080P & 3D Support (One Input To Four Outputs). This splitter feeds one projector and two TV’s. This setup worked fine (and still does work fine) with a 2nd generation Amazon Fire TV box, a 1st generation Amazon Fire TV box, and an Amazon Fire TV stick (newest generation). However, with my new 3rd generation Amazon Fire TV box there is an issue/problem. The problem is that every time I turn the TV’s off and then back on, the Amazon Fire TV box is showing the magnified screen. If I use one of the methods to take it out of magnified mode, the next time I touch any button it goes back to the magnified mode and becomes unresponsive. I have tried four different 3rd generation Amazon Fire TV boxes and they all behave the same way. All four of the 3rd generation Amazon Fire TV boxes work fine if I take the splitter out of the system. Additionally, I do not have this issue with my Apple TV, my TIVO, or my Blue Ray. All of these devices are feeding into an audio video receiver and the output of the audio video receiver is what feeds into the splitter. Lastly, I have the same issue with the 3rd generation Amazon Fire TV if I take the audio receiver out of the system and feed the Fire TV directly into the splitter. It has to be some about the combination of the Fire TV (3rd generation only) and the splitter (perhaps this particular splitter). Any idea? Has anyone run into this issue?
