Great chair, exceptionally well designed. Sturdy, wide and comfortable. A real bargin for a high quality chair. Just the wheels alone in Lowes are 30.00 each.

This was exactly what we needed for our son's shower and toilet needs as he easily transfers from his wheelchair to this as the brakes are pretty good at keeping the item still. Unfortunately, someone dropped heavy glass on the seat and caused a rip in the padded seat cushioin. We have duct taped this but would like to replace the seat piece. Since it just snaps in we are looking for that piece from someone else or the manufacturer. Any idea how to get that. We really don't want to spend the $119 again or build it back together again (took more effort than I thought it would!) so just want the seat part to replace the torn one we have....Please answer me in you are in the Wash DC metro area and no longer need your transport chair as I'm willing to buy your used one just for the seat cushion part!

This chair is not well designed and unsafe. The seat slid off the underneath metal support which has no permanent lock down. It is pop on pop off. He was in the shower with his caregiver when one side of the seat gave way and he fell onto the sharp metal edge that was exposed when the ill-fitting plastic end stopper fell out. He only weighs 172 libs. He suffered a very large cut on the back of his thigh and a scraped knee. It took two of us to get him extracted from the broken chair. If it was possible to give this chair no stars I would. I will be contacting Amazon and the manufacturer.

My mother broke her hip and was recently discharged from a skilled nursing facility. She is having some problems standing and walking. This commode chair has really come in handy when having to take her to the bathroom. We wheel her into her bedroom with her wheelchair, transfer her to her bed, get her to stand up and we pull her pants and adult underwear down, transfer her to the commode chair, and roll her into the bathroom. We roll her back to her bedroom after washing her hands, pants and adult underwear down, get her to stand up and we pull her underwear and pants back up, and transfer her to her bed and ultimately to her wheelchair. The reason we do the transfer in her bedroom is because the locking rear wheels work better on carpeting than on a tile floor which is found in most bathrooms. The rear locks are difficult to engage by hand, and work better when stepped on with a shoe. There are no front wheel locks and the chair doesn't stay in place that well on a tile floor which is we do all the work in the bedroom with a carpeted floor and then wheel it into the bathroom to take of business. We found that it is easier to wheel it backwards when transiting to and from the bathroom. This commode seat was easy to assemble, and it took me about 15 minutes to assemble it. All the parts were included, but I did have an issue with one of the nuts which had no threads. I ended up replacing it with a Hillman M6-1.00 nylon locking nut. My mother weighs about 110 pounds and pushing her to and from the bathroom is fairly easy and the chair has held up well with no issues. This commode chair has been very helpful on my mom’s road to rehabilitation. The price of this chair has dropped significantly since I purchased it and is now well under a $100. While this chair is non-returnable, it is a good deal for anyone needing a toileting solution for someone with mobility issues.

This shower chair is very sturdy, the caster wheels are excellent. Instructions for assembly are not complicated, just require common sense. One of the pieces did not quite fit be I forced it as we needed the chair ASAP for an invalid and did not want to wait for a replacement. This chair has been excellent for our needs but it is rather a high seat for a smaller person. Our invalid is about 5'4'' and her feet do not touch the ground. We also use this chair as a toilet chair.....we put a long-ish piece of cardboard underneath to rest on the side bars under the armrests. We then put our old toilet chair "bowl" under the hole in the seat and rest it on the cardboard. We then just remove both for cleansing the bottom. Also, we have a fairly high "lip" to get into the shower and this chair is sturdy enough and stable enough to enable us to lift it in stages over the lip. The only two slight downsides are the bar against the back is a little uncomfortable so we always put some sort of pad over it (towel, etc.) and the brakes are slight at best. The chair will not roll away with the brakes on but the chair does not stay put if it gets knocked a little in trying to put someone on it. Otherwise, I felt it was the best chair option I saw (sturdiness, padding) and I am very pleased with it. It has met our needs very well.

I bought this to use to wheel mom in to the shower - she has dementia and is bed bound. i think it's a little wide and a little high. The backing that comes with it is quite flimsy. tore after a few uses. The seat is high so if your person is not stable - it's hard to get them all the way to the back. If they sit too far the front, they will start to slide and if they slide too far, the seat sometimes flips up. Mom is a little combative and will push against the seat too so if you don't rescrew the screws after every use - they will pop out. Also the seat is wide - mom is about 5'2" and 100 lbs and she will tip over to one side as she isn't able to sit upright without support. However, it is a good deal. And it is narrow enough to go through the regular bathroom door and in to the shower. We are able to wheel her quite smoothly in to the shower. The brakes aren't the greatest but if you prop the chair against the shower wall with the brakes it works. I would recommend if your person is not combative - because it really is a lot more useful to have something to wheel your parent in. We used to have to wheel her close to the shower door with the wheelchair and then manipulate her in which is a lot more taxing. I do wish we would have been able to get a shorter with a better backing. maybe slightly narrower would be great as well.

Lightweight shower chair is nice getting my 96yo grandmother in and out of the shower.

Who knows? Packing carton was beaten up and there was a hole near the bottom. Presumably, the hardware slipped out. Couldn't assemble the chair and had to return it. Not convenient. It would have been easier to give us a new package but that's not the policy. om
