The bucket is made from 30 Gauge Galvanized Steel, according to info Behrens provided a big box store starting with the letter W. You can find that info on that store's website. My 12 quart bucket (also 30 gauge) from 2012 is still going strong after many camping trips, parties and events where it was thrown around, bumped into, scooted over rough concrete and filled to capacity without so much as a dent or a crack. I have bought 3 for various uses and the ones I received in fall 2016 are still the same high quality. These are incredibly well made buckets.
