Good product with slight downside
These putties are the real deal. Mine had (and still have) a slight odor, so I washed them and air them out occasionally and store them in a sealed bag. Worth the money, though, and much better than a pair I bought from an eBay seller, which had a much stronger odor (perhaps a disinfectant?). I wore them in a WWI I reenactment, but they would also be great to wear when shoveling snow or hiking. Very warm. The beauty of wool is that it will keep you warm even when wet.

Marvelous
It took 42 days for delivery because I ordered the parrot green ones. Came straight from India. Forgetting that travesty, I love them. Bright green, the color is astounding. I hope the picture does them justice. Description is accurate in terms of specs. Can wrap them very tight. Warm. Very comfortable, the material is soft. Made from wool, has a strong weave, I plan on making them prove their durability. I plan on ordering more in different colors. These have such utility it's breathtaking.

Be prepared for the smell.
As others have said these puttees have a STENCH. I have yet to use them, but they seem to be of good quality.

Great quality for the price!
I bought these four years ago when I first started to put together my reenactment kit and have had no reason to replace them! I came back to buy a second pair now just to have as a backup or for a second kit. These are good quality and durable and make a nice solid wrap around your legs!

Simply Awesome
These are AMAZING. I was looking for some gaiters for hiking, but I'm short and could never find the right size. Yes, it takes longer to put them on but they are much cheaper and more versatile for camping/hiking/survival situations. Thanks!

Didn't come with straps.
As stated above, I basically got just 2 8' long rolls of woven wool fabric instead of ones with 32" straps attached to one end. I'm just going to add some myself, but it would've been nice to have them include the promised straps. Also, the fabric is of a woven construction and does not stretch, so putting them on will be more difficult than with ones made using a more accurate knit construction, but I was expecting them to be woven as that is said in the description of the puttees. Overall, i'm not that impressed, although I should be able to make them work.

Excellent for supporting the ankle..
Awesome.. I use one of these Putties on the lower outside of my boot to provide additional support for my Ankle Brace, which is inside the boot.. It works a treat..

Swell Product. Shipped to Canada fast.
Great Puttees. Sturdy and strong, although a tad thinner and more felt-like than genuine WWI examples, but thats to be expected. They wrap nice and stay tight. Rather more Yankee green than British Brown. Cut as straight strips rather than on a curve. They will warp in places with use, but this is entirely as it should be! It will make for a tighter more personalized fit so long as they are wrapped the same way each time. I would recomend for costume or personal use. Are great for hiking.

Puttee
Not to be confused with putty, putti (disambiguation), or putte (disambiguation). A puttee (also spelled puttie, adapted from the Hindi paṭṭī, meaning "bandage") is a covering for the lower part of the leg from the ankle to the knee, alternatively known as: legwraps, leg bindings, winingas, or Wickelbänder. They consist of a long narrow piece of cloth wound tightly, and spirally round the leg, and serving to provide both support (as a compression garment) and protection. They were worn by both mounted and dismounted soldiers, generally taking the place of the leather or cloth gaiter.
