Missing a pad
I got this today. There are supposed to be two pads on this contraption designed to prevent marring the neck of the instrument. Mine came with only one. So Spidercapo either needs to send me a new capo or, at the very least, a replacement pad that I can glue to my existing capo. A little quality control can go a long way.Update:It's been nearly two weeks since I received this item. Along with my original review, I sent a message to the seller. I am still waiting to hear back from them. So in addition to the poor quality control at their facility, They also care nothing for the customers.I got tired of waiting for a reply, so I made a pad, using a piece of Velcro, which works very well for me. I will not be ordering from this company again.

Good for use with Banjo
I use this for my banjo and it works well to use for sawmill tuning without having to tweak all the strings. I like it because there is no retuning. Previous to the capo if you retune one string then you have to retune/tweak all the other strings. However, with this capo, you can place it on the first fret and raise the B string to C without knocking the other strings out of tune or having to retune at all.

Very clever, but has one limitation
It is a very clever device and works exactly as advertised. Levers slide sideways so can accommodate any string spacing. Unfortunately, the design has a limitation that prevents me from doing exactly what I wanted. I often often avoid fully capoing at the second fret of my banjo - which changes G tuning (D-G-B-D) to A tuning (E-A-C#-E) - because I don't want to lose access to the low D note when fingering the D chord. I thought this device would let me do this, and it does, but at the expense of not being able to fret the note at the "E" position (along with the other strings) when I want to finger the A chord. As is obvious in the picture, there is no room to manually access an open string at the fret where the capo is installed. Maybe I could learn to quickly flip and release that one lever while playing, but I doubt it!

Not for octave mandolins, likely not for bouzoukis, either.
I have a Petersen Octave Mandolin. Yes, it fit around the mandolin. No, it did not work. It does not appear to work with the more widely spaced double courses of an Octave Mandolin. I would suspect it would not work with a Celtic bouzouki, either.

I bought this capo to use on my dulcimer and ...
I bought this capo to use on my dulcimer and quickly discovered that it either didn't depress the strings enough or I had to keep repositioning and tightening the capo. I wish I had ordered a simpler design.I haven't yet used it on my ukulele.

Two Stars
Cool idea but completely impractical and not fit for a mandolin. The hardware if squeaky when adjusting and feels like it can easily damage the neck if you are not careful with it.

Still working on different tunings with it

Works for my mountain dulcimer
I use this on my mountain dulcimer. It works pretty well, except that it has a little lip designed to sit on top of the fretboard. Well, not everybody's action is the same height. I don't understand why the lip is there. I can make it work, but it's a bit of a hassle.
