Curt Manufacturing 13087 Class III Receiver

1996 4runner sr5. The only hard part was getting the old rusted tow ring bolts broken loose. Once that was done I was able to install it on my own in about 10 minutes. Most importantly all the holes lined up. The only weird part is there are 4 holes on the frame and you would assume you use those holes. They aren't all used. The rear end of the bracket you slip in the frame actually hangs off the end of the frame. Visually the directions were not that clear. It is pretty obvious after installation that it is correct because of where the hitch rolls around the spare tire under mount. Took me about 2 minutes to figure it out. Overall totally works exactly as planned.

My 1996 Toyota 4Runner came with no accessories at all. Nada. No wiring for a trailer, no receiver, no bug deflectors, no roof bars, you get it. So I started just doing things myself. I bought a wiring harness and tapped it in like it said and sure enough I can run a 4 pin trailer no problem now. Next on the list was the receiver, first one I found said it fit so I bought it at 4 in the morning here in Alaska, it came all the way here but Alas it did not fit. Wrong version it was made for new Toyotas. Company said they would not mind me returning it to them and Amazon said I would be reimbursed shipping to return it, but the cheapest shipping option out of Alaska was more than the receiver itself. I felt morally wrong completely screwing the company over my mistaken order, I know some will think that is really daft to just eat a hundred and fifty bucks, but I wanted to own up to my mistake. Anyway I ordered the correct one and stored the other for whatever purpose, no one would buy it on craigslist. The correct one installed so easy it was childs play, 4 big bolts I believe and she was mounted up tight as could be. I have used the rings to hook tow hooks and pull out cars, drag logs, pull other random junk, you get it. This beast is strong.

Exact fit for 99 4runner. Heavy duty and very easy to install

Fits an 02 4Runner perfect. Had more trouble getting the old one off. All the wholes lined up. Did the job myself with jack stands in about 20 min. Sticks out a little further than old hitch but looks good. Great price and delivery time.

Bolt holes slightly off, required a little modification...had to weld new mounts for 2 holes that didn't align. Installed, looks and works great.

I was amazed at how well built and easy to install this hitch was. I thought I had to drill into the frame of the car like previous hitches I have used but this one bolts on directly to my existing 2000 Toyota 4Runner frame bolts. Had the whole thing installed in less than 15 minutes. Solid construction as well.

I had been told that I would have to loose the spare under the 4 Runner before and I don't know if hitches have changed over the years, but this one fit perfect and the tire remained in place. There is a shop (just found it driving down the street) that installed it for $25 here in Nashville. Note that it is only the hitch and the second pic a the top is not part of it at all. You will need a ball mount and ball. It took the mechanic a total of 20 minutes to install without the wiring.

1997 Toyota 4-Runner SR5. The fit is perfect. Was a bit hard to get existing tow hooks off. I had to borrow an extended, long ratchet wrench. After I obtained one it was a piece of cake. You definitely need a second pair of hands to get the first two bolts in. Once you have them in it is synch. Yea, the second picture with the weird looking contraption is not included so don't worry.

Used for a few years. Works as intended and has held up to weather conditions and is not rusting. Towed a dirt bike with it no problem

Product fit very well. Easy to install. Very happy with the purchase.

Fit onto my ‘99 4Runner without issue. As noted by the other reviews the bracket hangs off the end of the frame so don’t be fooled by the seemingly offset holes. Try not to round out and damage the bolts from the factory tie downs that you have to remove...cos u end up re-using those in addition to the 4 bolts they provide.
