Works well.

It works well with the right hoses, and works well at keeping the intake from plugging while vacuming our pool.It is a bit difficult to close and open the lid, but not too bad. That is the only issue that I have had.I purchased this one due to the included adapters, which have been helpful.

The dirt that gets picked up by my vacuum gets lodged in the where the lid screws on and it's almost impossible to unscrew the lid. Every time I clean the filter I have to use something to hit the lid multiple times in order to free it so I can open it. You cannot open it just with your hands.

This canister is very hard to open for a 72 year old woman. It requires a lot of muscle to hold down the clip and try to rotate the top off. I live in Arizona, and the hard plastic inside to collect leaves, is not what I really wanted. I needed a net lining to collect the dust and small pebbles that fall into the pool. I am sure this canister is good in other regions in the country. However, it is not for Arizona, and I am returning it.

I was actually surprised at how well this canister works. I didn't think, initially, that because it didn't have a sock style filter, that it would work very well. However, I was very wrong. It catches tons of leaves and smaller debris just as well as the sock styles do. Would definitely suggest purchasing especially when you compare prices to the $70 and $90 ones.

I use this to vacuum pool manually. I put a filter sock over the basket to catch leaves and such. Works good. Would give a 5 star except the grey lid edge is smooth with no where to grip and if there is some shumutz on the o-ring (which is inevitable even though it gets cleaned each use) it is difficult to open up.

first order was missing a part, replacement was sent and turns out I didn't need the part that was missing anyway. If the instructions don't line up with how you actually hook it up. After about 2 months the O-ring keeps popping out causing it to suck in air. When I came back to my order to see how to get a replacement I see 3 of the 6 questions on here are about the O-ring (2 unanswered and 1 says you have to deal with Amazon). I'm sure I could go to Lowes and find a replacement O-ring but I'm guessing like any type of shaker or drink bottle I've ever had that uses O-rings, once they pop out or get loose the bottle is never the same. Most of the complaints on here are the lid being hard to open/close which is true it takes strong hands to muscle this thing open and closed. When it's working it does a good job but I'm going to try a brand that doesn't use an O-ring instead of trying to find the exact fit.Short version... look for a brand without an O-ring
